Hi
The worst thing one can use are those nose strips. Not only do they injure skin and only remove surface dirt, STRIPS ARE SPRAYED WITH POLYQUATERNIUM-37, THE MAIN INGREDIENT IN HAIR SPRAY.
They best thing you can use is BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) which is salicylic acid, as the dermatologist stated. Start with something mild like “Clean & Clear” moisturizer for pimples. It contains 0.5%. I use it and don’t have any acne—it just keeps my skin smooth and fresh due to it’s continuous exfoliating properties. AHA’s (Alpha Hydrolic Acids) have drop off rates—BHA does not.
This is how I helped my elderly mom get rid of flaky scaly dandruff-shampoo containing salicylic acid/ BHA. I suggest reading up on BHA and AHA’s—try Paula Begoun’ books and web site: Cosmetic Cop. It works. Best of luck.
