What happen to the info on bloody noses? The promo for the show indicated there would be information on the right and wrong way to stop a nose bleed. As the father of a 9 y/o who suffers nose bleeds almost weekly, if not daily, when the weather turns dry I really would have liked the doctors information on this subject. |

Here is an emergency quiz (http://www.thedoctorstv.com/main/show_synopsis/…) from a previous episode that has a question about nosebleeds, and Dr. Travis gives the following answer: “The first thing I ask someone when they come to the E.R. is, ‘How did you apply pressure to your bleeding nose?’” Dr. Travis says. “You have to grab and pinch the front of the nose, lean forward a little bit and don’t lean back because it’ll go down your throat and it’ll be tough to breathe.
“If you’ve applied that direct pressure for 10 or more minutes, and it’s still gushing or you’re having trouble breathing, handling all the blood, then you should probably go to the emergency department or see your doctor,” Dr. Travis says. |
