I would like to comment on Dr. Kristi Funk’s remarks at the beginning of Wednesday’s show. I enjoy this show, and I find it very helpful until…
At the start of the show the topic was about how people are freezing eggs, surrogate mothers, etc. This topic was really about other avenues that women/couples can do to have children. Dr. Funk chimed in with comments about how she feels this circumvents god’s plan, that these measures may not be right. I find this to be distrubing. I hope Dr. Funk that you are not saying, if you cannot conceive a child in a traditional way, you should not be a parent. I have battled infertility for many years. I am currently in the process of adopting. I am finding other avenues of having the family I have dreamed of for a long time. I feel that I will be a good parent when it happens for me. When you made these comments you are really talking about me and so many others like me.
Perhaps The Doctors need to have a show on infertility and adoption. Going through infertility treatments, making the decision to adopt, and the process of adoption; I feel there is PLENTY to talk about in positive way.
I really have say Dr. Funk, sitting on stage pregnant with triples saying the comments you did, I find this to be hypocritical. I’m sure you circumvented god’s plan.
