With all these state of the art scientific tests and scans it is amazing what is being done ie the brain surgery to DNA testing, what are the costs and can the normal everyday working person afford these procedures? Think not!! We need to rethink our medical society!

I went to the Navigenics (genetic testing) web site last night, and I found their prices to be quite affordable. They had two different options — the more basic plan was only $499. The comprehensive package was $2499. Both included time with a genetic counselor like the one they had on the show yesterday, so that was nice. I mean our neighbors just spent much more than that on a new TV. And I figure if we can make changes to our health now, it will surely save us on hospital bills down the road!

Just realized it might have been helpful if I shared their main link. I found the info on the Navigenics genetic tests and pricing at http://www.navigenics.com/visitor/what_we_offer… Hope that helps.

scans and such things are affordable to us thanks to health insurance. They foot the bill (in most cases) and we oly have to pay a monthly payment which is quite affordable.
