I had always foooled around with drugs in highschool. Now I am 21 and have been addicted to oxycotton for over two years. Everyone i know is much older than me and still on the drug, I almost felt as though i had no hope at all to get off this drug. I am currently detoxing at home it has been 5 days so far. Seeing the guy on your show beating the symptoms of detox and comming out on top is extremely encouraging to me!! I thought oxycotton was okay because it was a perscription…NOBODY TRY IT IF YOU DONT HAVE TOO! I go to college and haven’t even been able to get up to go the last couple days. Like the boy said I thought I found the secret to life. I could do it at work, it would keep me up to do homework at night..but it has all crept up to me now. It’s so hard to find excitement in life and i forget who I am. The drug was absolutely everything to me…Like the guy on T.V I even loved the lifestyle…I have relapsed once…this is my second time around…I want to stress it as hard as i can to NEVER try oxycotton..EVER!! This is my second time around and it’s so hard but I’m almost done and never ever ever ever going back!! I think these things should not be handed out so freely, they are far to easy to get your hands on..I live in Canada and it seems like they are everywhere!!
Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks for todays episode..definatly gave me that extra push i need to recover. It’s encouraging to see it can be done!

The struggle to overcome any addiction can seem overwhelming at times. Just never give up resisting. Find some people you know are “safe” and let them know you need their help to stay clean. Don’t let stinking thinking tell you that you can use “just this one time” because it’s a lie! As the saying goes, One’s never enough yet one’s too many!! Hang in there.

I wish you all the BEST with your recovery! You can do ANYTHING that you set your mind to. I had a friends daughter (22) overdose & die from it…….VERY,VERY SAD !! Detox your body, stay OFF of Prescription drugs, unless you have a legitimate health condition.
I suffer from CFS/Fibromyalgia…..and take strong narcotics everyday…..but they CERTAINLY DON’T give me a buzz, or euphoric feelings……heck for that matter they don’t even control my pain adequetly.
I HOPE & PRAY you will stay clean this time, it’s ashame kids-young people die from this everyday!

glad to hear you are sobering up. too many people get addicted to pills and OD, and yet the manufactering companies still make there millions.

My brother nearly DIED from oxycontin! Yes, NOBODY try it!
And yes you can recover, I have a friend who’s been clean of heroin for 9 years. It’s never impossible!

I heard something like this on Oprah, where a stay-at-home mom would take up to 80 pain pills in a single day.

I saw that Oprah episode too….TRULY blew my mind!! As a person who is legitimately taking narcotics for health conditions, I’ve never taken mor than 2-6 pills per day, and that would depend on the exact drug as to wether it was 2, 4, 0r AT MOST 6……80 pills would kill most NORMAL people!!! Prescription drugs are NOTHING to “play around” with.
