I’m so glad they discussed the connection between marijuana use and testicular cancer. For one reason, I didn’t know and for another I’m sure alot of men don’t know this. There is alot of misguided information on the effects of marijuana use as well as the benefits. I do agree with the use of it for cancer patients to help with appetite issues and pain. Hopefully alot of men are watching the doctors t.v and have seen this episode.

There are only weak associations between thc and testicular cancer, and scientists admit that it MAY be a factor, but it has not been proven or even thouroughly studies. Correlation does not imply cause, and one must be very careful in these assumptions.

I’m not saying that thc does, or does not, have any influence on the development of cancers, but one can not say “marijuna causes testicular cancer” unless it is a proven fact, and it is not. thc has affects on the leydig cells within the testes, but that is all that is known at this time.

The benifits of marijuana by far outweigh the risks.
Blatently stating marijuana causes testicular cancer is just a scare tactic.

I’m sorry but I have to say something that I hope the Dr’s see as well as the rest of America… Marijuana is far better for you than any prescrition drug doctors push down your throat…remember they get paid by drug companies to presribe their product and not just a little they get paid quite a bit for this….( I work in a Dr’s office), drug reps are here handing stuff out all the time from the money they make they make millions/billions every year off these DRUGS. Marijuana is also better for you than any other legal drug that has been made legal for the only purpose of being a tax revenue for the federal government. Alcohol and cigarettes kill more than crack, meth, & herion combined each year…how many people have died from marijuana this year…and let me make the question a little better, how many people have died for a fact being that the cause of death was from using marijuana this year in the whole world???? NONE!!!! Thats right none! don’t believe all the crap you here even if its from a doctor….throughout the world people will tell you lots of things , scare tactics, anything… just remember marijuana isn’t bad for you no matter what the Dr’s say  untill its published in the medical journal don’t believe it and even then only you can  know whats best for you don’t let some Dr who lives off telling people there is something wrong to not tell you something to get you in to see them again!

I had to double post just in case some people only read this thread. I am in TOTAL shock that “the doctors” can be so ignorant!!! It is clear to me they have NOT done their own research & just trusted their obviously biased research team!! I know way to many people who have been helped by cannabis. The absurd comment made that the new “packaging” is aimed at teens is so ridiculous it makes me want to hop in the car & drive to LA to set these nitwits straight!! Marijuana is NOTHING like heroin or any of the other drugs. Just because a “Doctor” prescribed it does NOT make it OK to take. My doc gave me naproxen 500 for pain after a car wreck made my heart go crazy with a deep twisting sharp pain. Another doc gave me Coreg for blood pressure, made me throw up, dizzy, weak, then another gave me cozaar to replace lisinopril (which was making me cough) also for blood pressure which raised it form a nice 103/72 to get this….205 /177 & made my heart HURT like it was being squeezed to pieces. You know what marijuana does? It makes my blood pressure go down. I can’t take it due to “the rules” at work, but I would if I could. Needless to say I am not to wild over what doctors prescribe. I’ll take my chances with a herb created by God, not man. The biggest reason the media demonizes Marijuana is the big pharmaceutical companies can’t patent it & make money off it. So far the drugs they have made that are supposed to be similar don’t work nearly as well & have many side effects. Look up “Nabilone” the man made version & all the problems. When will people remove their heads from the sand & wake up to the fact Marijuana is NOT bad. It can also be used to make paper & LONG lasting fabrics, check out the book,"the emperor wears no clothes by Jack Herer. Get educated on the facts not the myths, most of us know how to do searches for stuff online so do it don’t just trust your doctor or the doctors on TV. You will live much longer lives!!

BOTH MY SONS HAVE HAD T-CANCER!
Neither of them smoke, drink or do drugs. My husband and I married young and He has smoked pot since high school and tobacco longer. Our children were exposed to second-hand smoke, tobacco and pot from their father. I made attempts to limit their exposure such as; no smoking in the house or vehicles. Four years ago our youngest son had surgery to remove one testicle do to CANCER. Followed up with radiation and currently every 6 months testing. Our Oldest Son was dignosed one year later with testicular CANCER. After removal of his testical, then Kemo; he has continued to BATTLE CANCER (recently under going MAJOR surgery)and STILL FIGHTING CANCER! COULD these recent medical studies be just a tiny crack in the dam ready to burst with deeper knowledge??? What is passsed on from the FATHER’S SPERM?

could someone please tell me where the source for these “studies” came from i have heard that cannabis lowers your sperm count but that is somewhat misleading because once you build up a tolerance your sperm levels return to normal. Even if this was true there has never been a recorded death from smoking exclusively marijuana which the doctors failed to mention. even though 400,000 U.S citizens die every year from cigarette smoking and 150,000 every year from alcohol abuse.

I am interested in what the Drs have said about the correlation between marijuana and testicular cancer, but I am a bit upset about the episode’s previews saying “Drugs disguised as treats”, “The Doctor’s no parent can miss”. I am absolutly against street drugs, however I believe Marijuana should not be classified in that perspective.

Not yet has anyone made a fact that marijuana can kill, or give anyone a disease. I have done many studies of marijuana and today was the first I had ever heard they can. The only prolonged and negetive effects of the usage is smoking marijuana. Any smoke inhalation of any substance is dangerous, that is a fact. Marijuana is used for dozens of reasons, not just cancer. I personally use it to calm me down from sever anxiety.

The THC lollipops are absolutly not targeted after kids and teens, they are made so that people who don’t wish to have issues with their lungs and heart from smoking can get a tasty treatment of their medication. Those lollipops are sold in medical dispensaries (which are only used for marjiuana) and only sold to patients with a Medical Marijuana card.  They sells many items such as honey, lotion, lip balm, sprays, food, snacks (including lollipops), etc.. all made from the THC of marijuana so people can get the treatment they need without damaging their lungs.

This is intresting because the study was funded by NIDA which i tend not to trust but even if this study was proven to be true testiculuar cancer only has 7,500 to 8,000 diagnoses a year with a 90% cure rate. Compare this to the deaths that arise from alcohol and cigarette use and you get my point the drug marijuana should be made legal.

Now these doctors are bogus on this subject.. I have been using medical marijuana for years now.. I use it for stomach pains, chronic knee pain due to surgery as well as acid refluc disease and chronic migraines.
