Like every health conscious person, i am in the gym 3-5 times a week because i want to live an active life. I have recently noticed that going to the gym may actually be harming my health. I mostly take the group fitness classes and there is music. UNFORTUNATELY, the volume is always above what i would consider safe. I think that 5 classes a week in a room with music that is WAY TOO LOUD may contribute to hearing problems later in life. I have noticed that other women enjoy this not realizing that this may be harmful. This should be regulated in some way and unfortunately, those establishments promoting health and fitness aren't always watching out for your health.
