Dr. Sonia Batra earned her medical degree with honors from Harvard Medical School. She was selected as the youngest Rhodes Scholar and graduated with a Master’s degree in Genetics at the University of Oxford, England. Dr. Batra completed her Internship, Residency, and Chief Residency in dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine, returned to Boston for fellowship training in Dermatologic, Laser, Cosmetic and Mohs Micrographic Surgery at SkinCare Physicians of Chestnut Hill as well as clinical research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Prior to private practice, Dr. Batra was the Section Head of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA. She remains actively involved in clinical research and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the USC Keck School of Medicine. She is also a Contributing Editor for the journal Dermatologic Surgery and a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and JAMA Dermatology.
She is grateful to be supported by a medical family – her father, mother, brother, and husband are all physicians! Her husband, Sameer, is a urologist, and they are the proud parents of two children and a Havanese dog.
