Cerebral Palsy, ADHD

I have a son who is borderline cerebral palsy, his main issue is feeding dysfunction. He forgets how to use a spoon and goes throu bouts of food refusals that last a few days and then change frequently. Also I have a boy who is ADHD and has an aggression disorder, with a few quirks of autism. I have a lot of trouble keeping him calm. Being a single mom of three boys it gets frustrating doing everything by myself. I love them so much and want them to be happy. Any suggestions?

He is already on occupational therapy and will start physical therapy soon. But with OT, they only seem to work on motor skills not chewing or swallow. I am trying to find things I can do for him.. I am trying different textures, but he is at high risk for chokink, considering his tongue does not function like it should and he doesn't seem to mash too many of the foods with his jaw.

Have you tried feeding therapy?  Some occupational therapists do feeding therapy and use techniques to make eating fun!!  I have observed some of these sessions (as a physical therapist) and they will put food on toys to make it more fun (of course the toys are large so the toy doesn't get swallowed).  They will encourage the child to explore the food with their hands.

I have been taking a mineral supplement called Natural Cellular Defense.  It contains zeolites, which naturally capture heavy metals and toxins and safely removes them from your body through your urine.  There is lots of research on how heavy metal toxicity causes so many illnesses, so it makes sense that removing these heavy metals and toxins will allow our bodies to heal themselves naturally.

There is a lot of information out there about zeolites...it can be overwhelming.  I looked around, and while I did not find much on cerebral palsy and heavy metal toxicity, I did find a lot about ADHD and Autism.  There are actual studies and testimonials from people who are seeing amazing results.  Here is an informational website about liquid zeolite and it has testimonials about many different complications that have been eliminated by removing the heavy metals from their bodies.  www.liquidzeolite.org

I had parents who were both handicapped from complications that probably could have been prevented had we known about this 20 years ago.  I really believe this mineral is a gift from God, and I know in my heart it will help you somehow.

My prayers are with you.  I, too, raised my three kids by myself, and while they were healthy, I had my parents to care for as well.  I know it's not easy seeing your children suffer...but they know they have your love.

You can email me at waiora4laura@yahoo.com if you want more information.  Just put The Doctors blog in the subject line.

Good luck,

Laura

I had been using a sensory brush on his legs arms and back. He could not tolerate honey consistencies, and has a terrible time tolerating certain things, and the brush helped.. but after a while it hasn't been helping anything else. I'm not sure I want to start any herbal therapies yet, considering he's on enough medication for asthma and chronic ear infections, as well as occupational and physical therapies. But I will keep that in mind if, god forbid this will progress past 2-3 years.

Julian's autism is very mild, but his adhd is almost out of control as well as his aggression disorder, I have trouble giving him regular meds for a cold or fever, I don't know how he'll tolerate taking anything else. I wish there were more options for severe adhd kids in my area. I haven't been able to find them and I don't have the rescources to do much else except wait for it to calm down, i guess. And play catch the toddler before he hurts baby or himself."

I wish all these new forms of treatment for everything were available everywhere and everyone could find out about them.
