Yup, low Vitamin D as well as anemia (low iron) can attack Fibros. But if all a doctor said was "You may have Fibro" that means he should've sent you to a Fibro specialist Rheumotologist. Only a Rheumatologist who has Fibro patients can give you a real positive diagnosis. If you tell me the city and state you live in I can put in a request to the Fibro gang to find a GOOD fibro doc to make darn sure that is what it is. Many other worse diseases can act like Fibro, So remember to be happy if it IS only Fibro. And it may take time and a lot of tries to find the meds you will need to be normal again. It's a jouney of learning and trial and error. And YOU will be the driving force eventually as you learn all about it.

Nowadays all they want to give you is Lyrica (an anti-seizure medication that can reduce pain and eliminate all anxiety and my sister loves it, but I gained 10 pounds and went back to my pill called Gabitril, which does all the good stuff above but takes a long time. Cybalta is just a really strong anti-depressant and most of us hate it because we cannot get to sleep and getting proper uninterrupted 7 hours of sleep every night is 1/3 of the cure, so we can talk more, but let me find you a proper doctor to check for Fibro first.

Oh I went to a neurologist and he had me do some tests, he didn't see anything, then 20 minutes later I had my first seizure (due to lack of sleep for 4 days) Only if the Neurologist also specializes in Fibro will he know what to ask and how to do the test.

If he has a tilt table he can test you on that, and you may or may not get dizzy, but that still is not tell you you have fibro.

I need to warn you that even for the best Fibro doctors, when they start touching these spots, if you know you have one in that area, more his finger over a bit to where it is, because if his finger is off my a tiny bit, it may not hurt, so you have to help them out a bit. But never lie. Because many people go in and TRY to get a Fibro diagnosis so they always say OUCH to every area touched, so they add in some areas where is is NOT supposed to hurt, like the fleshy area between your thumb and first finger!  you only have to have 11 out of the 18 spots.

Oh and are any of your joints double-jointed,..sorta bend back too far, like your elbows or knees? That's a sign.

If anyone in your family has flat feet, that is a sign. (I don't but my sister does)

Let's get the name of a Fibro Rheumatologist in the area of your doctor and ask if you can get referred to see him from the neurologist.

We get abdominal pains, first off due to the most painful periods on the planet! Do you have those?

And we may not know it but we love salty stuff and the pain can be coming from the bladder. That recently happened to me and my gynocolgist wanted to do a total hysterectomy. I emailed a smarter doctor and he called me and in 20 questions told me it was my bladder and who to see about it and stopping salt for a while stop all the pain and it's healed.

If you have Fibro we can fix you. And it won't cost. It should save you money since you'll be eating better. If you are poor I can send you the books you'll need to read.I too had the colonoscopy. Getting ready for it and getting all the poop out is the aweful part, but mine was perfect. Not even one polyp. It was perfect. even through all that IBS. But it's great fun when they knock you out. So you will never now what all happened. you'll just wake up and feel wonderful and kinda still drunk. So they can be fun.Can we just email? I'm at

thanks for all the information. i'm 25. i went to neurology last month and since my doctor is a resident after he examines me he goes out and talks to other doctor who is more experience he is so when he brought me a other doctor. he examine me also and he said that i might have fibromyalgia. since, i told my doctor about the abdominal pain and that i'm going to do a colonscopy that time. he wants me to see him back in june. my old primary doctor who left, she did test me if i was fit to refer to rhumatologist but she told me that my vitamin D level was so low that it needs to get that fixed. then, she left and i have a new doctor now. I forgot to mention it to him when i saw him on monday. I will be seeing him again so i will be sure to ask him.
