I am a 60 year old female, have several medical conditions (diabetes--controlled w/diet & exercise); hypertensive (controlled with Altace and exercise); hyponatremia (low sodium--admitted to hospital 5 times since 07 with sodium levels as low as 117); and 7 years post operative gastric by-pass (weighed 257 now weigh 143--maintained for 6 years).  However due to several muscular skeletal disorders (spinal stenosis, disc degenerative disease, osteoarthiritis and osteoporosis) I had to retire from a much loved career at a university.  I live in constant pain and therefore my life has been altered to the point that I must force myself to get out of bed.

On today's show I saw the young lady who had the experimental procedure with spinal surgery and stem cells.  It sparked a little hope that I too might be a candidate for this life altering procedure.
