I have been married for 14 years, have a 12 year old son.  Living in Miami although originally from NY and lived in Raleigh NC for 15 years..  I'm a 6 year breast cancer survivor and my husband is a 4 year thyroid cancer survivor too.  Although I worked in Corporate for 15 years, I'm now a Freelance Graphics Designer, and have recently started my own Machine Embroidery Design business from home.  It keeps me busy and grounded doing something that I love to do. I left my job as a computer specialist at a quilt shop this past summer.

I have been told that I'm in the "Sandwich" generation where I'm taking care of my son and my elderly (78 year old) mother.  I'm one of 5 kids, but my mother ended up living in Miami.  We moved her into an Assisted Living Facility after a year, but I'm the one that takes her to all her many doctor appointments as she would never remember anything.  I've since had to quit my job because I could not juggle it all.  Hence the new freelance business.
