I live in a Boston suburb with my husband and 87-year old Mom who has been living with us for a year, since she was no longer  able to live alone.  She has end stage kidney failure which is stable as well as dementia but has the ability to laugh at the changes that have occurred as a result of her dementia.  I believe keeping a sense of humor is so important to the challenges we face while dealing with daily life.  I feel better knowing she is being cared for by a loving family and as long as I am able, will keep her with us and turn to family members and outside resources for help.
