About Me

I have a question. Several years ago I had about 80% of my Thyroid removed. The remainder of my Thyroid did not function to the level my body needed for proper energy. I have been on medicion for several years now and I have a TSH test done every year and according to my Endocrinologo Dr. my Tsh tests are very good. I am curently taking Eutirox 100 one pill one day and two pills the next then one agan so 1-2-1-2-1-2 etc.

My last Tsh test was 1.3 The test says .400 ot 5.000 is the range.

I am 68 year old Masters Track and Field Athlete. I train religiously for the 200 and 400 meters. I am 5.11 and weigh 190lbs. That is too heavy. I need to weigh 175 to 178 but I have a problem getting my weight down. I need to eat and eat protein becasue of my training. My body fat is only 17% and I have been told for my age tha that is a ok number.

So my question is if my Tsh was higher would it be easier or more difficult to keep the weight off? My Dr says the lower the better, is that correct?

I recently did a BioFit test and my metabolism is lower than I would like. My guess is I do have a tendency to over train especially a month or two before competitions.

I am possessed with training, it gives me the endorphin high I am addicted to.

I also enjoy fishing, landscaping and building which I do as my lively hood.

I live in Costa Rica and Panama mostly in Panama traveling to Costa Rica once a month to visit my 22 year old daughter and compete in local Masters T&F competitions.

I watch your show when I am n CR, I do not get NBC in Panama.

Regards to you all,

Jim
