After being a yo yo dieter for years I finally got right in my head as I like to call it and lost 80 punds just by watching what I ate. It has been four years and I have gained back 10 pounds which I am in the procuess of losing again. It is crazy how we can fool our minds into what they call stinking thinking in recovery programs. You know the conversation you have with yourself. I can eat what I want now that I have lost the weight, I can control the snacking, yes I overate this morning but I will eat a light dinner (doesn't happen) etc. We have to eat to live but with food addiction most people live to eat. I would like to know how many of you out there that have lost weight have kept it off for at least 10 years giving hope to others in their struggle and what they felt helped them in their quest.

I'd like to know too.....I lost 70 pounds and kept it off for 20+ years, then because of medication and hip surgeries gained it ALL back. I can carry weight evenly but I want to be able to do things and feel lighter. I've tried to lose the weight since about June now and it isn't coming off; I've maintained the higher weight and it is frustrating!!

Dieting is an very easy word to say. I am on a new diet. I have tried that diet. Dieting never works. I am starting on a new diet tomorrow, ect and on and on and on. I think I have tried everything in the book. I know what I have to do and I know how but the ? is do I really want to or not. Not all the children in China are going to starve if I don't clean my plate. One of the hardest thing I have ever tried to do is waste food. No matter what i put on my plate I always leave some of it. I am not wasteing food I am trying to be health. I know that I don't need all that I put on my plate. So after some time you will fine that you are putting less and less on the plate cause again U do not want to waste food cause some kid out there is starving.
Try it. It might just be what helps you to loose weight.
