I think one of the ways to stay on target is to look at the life you want to have and start reaching for it, dreaming it. Sometimes life stops us for awhile, but if we eat in a way that is goal related, we will be eating better. If I eat chips they are empty, make me feel worse and draggy. I may only feel like watching TV, and the get up and go, has gotten up and gone. If I eat fish, fresh fruit & vegetables, and walk the dog, I come in feeling like working on the housework, or painting a painting, or putting in flowers in my flower boxes. The life I dream isn't watching someone else live on TV. It is having my surrounding work for my family and enjoying the blessings around me.  What I eat effects how I feel, and maybe even how I treat those around me. Just a thought!

I had to continue on this page Sorry.  Keep your book 17DD with you always. Try to make your breakfast and lunch in the AM or the night before & wing it from there, like you have been. When you are sitting with your parents at an appt. or something like that.  Read it and keep the mindset that you are doing it. You will remember to eat your packed breakfast or lunch and stay ahead of the game Just a little planning and not much time at all really. I know it is easy for me to say. Just remember I have been there kinda. I became an emotional eater and that did not do my health any justice.. I am not preaching. My intention is to offer you some good advice like any friend would ♥ I mean you no harm at all. Now back to me & my challenge :0  & adding exercise.. That is really the only exercise I can do these days, is walking. I challenged myself to lose 15 - 20 lbs by 5/15. I also have to add some kind of exercise to my plan. I walked 17 mins yesterday and tomorrow hopefully more. I am gonna write another blog and this time use what i have learned to tell others and God willing that could help them too. I think I/we qualify to help one another LOL Don't you. I am just keeping it real. Keep in touch Please ♥♥♥

Hi Lady♥

Sorry to hear about your parents. I went thru something similar in 98, losing my mother. Than my father moved to Colorado where I was living at the time and he passed in 2003. It was hard to see him going thru the stages. Hang in there girl and you got me as back up. Whatever you need I am here for you. Ok, ♥ You said the magic word " you are so grateful you can help". Well that is really 7 words, lol. That is wonderful. God will help you and I will add you to my prayer list. Prayers are very powerful,  I believe. ♥ You know if you use the treadmill properly (not to hang clothes on like I used to do  :0 ) you will become less stressful and the weight is gonna flow away. I have been reading alot about walking. Excuse me  Back to you for a minute. ( I GOT AN IDEA ?)

I sure hope she is doing better, Please let her know we are praying for her.  Sometimes as a care-giver we forget about ourselves, taking care of others.  IT is a hard job so , please take a few minutes for yourself each day and stay strong.!!!!!!  Know you are in my prayers and I'm here if you need some-one to talk with. Talk to you soon.                                                  Debbie

Hi Cheryl.....sorry to hear about your mom.  When  you are caretaker of your parents it is hard.  I can imagine trying to stay with the diet is hard and you dont' feel bad about unloading anything to me.  That is what I am here for.  I am down 16 pounds and have lost 3 inches in my waist.  I am not sticking strictly by the book but watching calories, portions, etc.  I am drinking water and green tea.  I am battling sinus/allergy infection right now that had made me feel really bad.  Will be praying for your mom and you.  take care.  cindy

Hi Coneill!  I haven't gotten on these boards in a while.  How are you doing?  How is your mom?  I was caretaker of my mom for several years and seemed to stress me because she was in the nursing home and when she was home needed around the clock care.  I have only lost 13 pounds but I am encouraged that I am losing inches.  I have lost nearly 3 inches in my waist and wearing clothes that I haven't worn in a couple of years.  I am looking forward to keep on keeping on.  I pray things are going good with you....take care...cindy

Hi Coneill, Yes I am enjoying this diet. I am seeing progress the first time in a long time. Even if I mess up  a day, I get back on target and continue loosing. I am not yo-yoing as much and my clothes feel much looser. I am about 1/3 to goal, so I know I will get there. Today I set up for a black light chalk and puppet program, which at some point I would love to become full time, along with painting and selling art from home. I am busy being mom and all that goes with having 2 teen age girls again. i love reading, encouraging, teaching. Am starting a Bible study in my home, with some women on parenting. Kind of a Bible Study support group. I am busy and love my life. But I also think a quiet time is very important every day and love studying the Bible and praying for answers in my own life. God has so changed my life from what it could have been to what it is, and I wish everyone that experience.
