The other day the doctors talked a little bit about hemorrhoids and Dr. Sears said that he had had problems with them. I thought that I had a problem with them also until three years ago. I went to a new gynocologist because my old one stopped taking my insurance. He asked if I had problems with hemorrhoids and I said yes. He did an exam and told me that it wasn't hemorrhoids it was a tumor. Within days, I was at a surgeron's office to get a biopsy which turned out positive for rectal cancer. (Farrah Fawcett calls it anal cancer) Within another week I was doing chemo and radiation. (This was Sept. 2006) In Jan. 2007 I had surgery which ended up with a colostomy and a hysterectomy. Them I had to do chemo again. My life has changed so much. I wish that I had my "hemorrhoids" checked earlier...it may have turned out better. Both of my sisters had trouble with hemorrhoids so I had talked to them about it instead of a doctor. Please, if anyone has problems with hemorrhoids.......please get it checked out. Don't be embarassed about it. We all have a rectum (well, not me anymore!) so it's not anything a doctor hasn't seen before. Please let my ignorance help you.
GET IT CHECKED!

Very mind-opening!
Bless you for this post. Hemorroids is something people don't want to talk about. So sorry that you had to go through this. My best you. Diana
