I had 3 major joint replacements last year and have just gotten off years on narcotics and sleeping pills, so I'm going through major withdraws. I'm not sleeping well and my stomach says feed me and I'll let you sleep. OOPS there I go---BENGING--and blow it all. Any suggestions for dealing with this weakness?

My suggestion would be to break your dinner up into mini meals. In our house we typically eat between 5 and 6pm. If your timing is similar make your dinner plate as you normally would, then immediately place half of it onto another plate and cover it and put away. Around 7:30pm reheat the leftovers just make sure you don't eat 2 hours before bed. Drink lots of water too. It is worth a try and it may help you get through the changes in your eating habits. Best of luck to you.
I am eating cut-up veges...which can be eaten liberally. I know though that it says not to eat 3 hours before you go to sleep. Sometimes I have a yogurt or something other than fruit to fill me up.

Been going through some of the same stuff. I am a grazer so It is difficult to stick to 3 meals and 2 snacks. Some times my daughter, who is doing the same eating plan, will saute some vegi's at night if it gets too hard and you want to get a piece of bread or a sweet. I have had some popcorn (light) and one day I ate the last piece of wheat bread w/peanjut butter. I didn't gain so I am hoping that I can resist the temptations I usually fall into. I have lost 2 pounds and this is day 4. Some are losing a lot more by now. Oh, well, I am looking at the long haul and giving myself pats on the back that I am maintaining this way of eating. We both would like some bread though.
To sharonsmith....A 2 pound start is great! It might start getting faster as the diet progresses (the weight loss I mean).

I did it agin last night. And really woke up sad this morning. Then I got on the scale to see the damages and yep gained a pound back. I'll try your ideals but it is really hard to teach this old horse new tricks. It's my 17 day and I've lost 10 pounds. I was hoping for 15 but I messed up 3 nights. Still pretty satisfied and will continue to work the program. Can't wait till tomorrow morning. Hot Cream of Wheat w/turvia. Yumm
Caroltrissel...keep trying..you have lost over 1 pound a day! That is more than some others have done! Everyone IMO is going at their own pace, so everyone wins in their own way.

Guess I'm just gonna have those nights. But I will not let it take me all the way back. I just get back in gear the next day and continue on. official 10 # in the first 17 days. Not to bad, but wonder what it would have been if I hadn't messed up 3 different nights. They were 5-6 days apart, so I guess as long as I try harder to stick with it I will succeed. Only 55 more to go. WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!
