My name is Stacey, we live in Mesa Arizona. We have two children, girl 11 and boy 7 ( in 2011). I am very concerned for our health and the future of my children. I love to watch or listen to most medical shows/specials and anything about nutrition. My boy had  a brain trauma in 2009 at age 5. From a simple accident that anyone could have. He fell out of my bed in the middle of the night and hit his head ( on our wood floor - must have just missed the carpet I had next to bed) , resulting in a fractured skull in four places and a severe hematoma. The emergency room I  took him to said send him home, he seemed fine. ( a note to mothers here - ALWAYS trust your instincts, you are usually right and better to insist on having everything checked - than to lose your child.) I felt it wasn't right, but didn't press the doctor on having a catscan - from now on I always will! I feel we had a miracle happen in that emergency room because as I was waiting for final paperwork my son threw up and his eyes rolled back in his head, he was screaming in pain - it took several calls and a length of time before I was able to even get someone to come back in the emergency room there . Finally they rushed him into a catscan, then found out the problem. He was helicoptered to the Phoenix Childrens Hospital - ( most fabulous place in the world if you ask me! ) and they saved his life. But if I had taken my son back home - he would have either gone into a coma or died shortly after. It was bad. I  am so grateful for Doctors - surgeons - and the whole  medical world.

Now my son seems normal, he is healthy. And I am amazed every day at the miracle we experienced. WE prayed in that hospital with the on site pastor, everyone I know prayed for us. I will always thank God and the medical healers he put in our path that day. It made me a believer - every time I look back at what happened and how it happened.

Now we are trying to get more active, and take care of ourselves as well as we can.

WE live on acreage ( yeah - even if its desert - its better than an apartment ha-ha! ) Going to start gardening, and trying to provide as fresh and as much as we can. Share with friends and get them involved too! All in time! Word will spread and hopefully more people will try to live this way.

We do our small part in being as "green" as possible, little by little, learning all the time how to be better.

WE have a masonry business - and it has been quite a struggle since 2007. With no end in site it seems. But hoping and praying it gets better. I am so thankful I can stay at home still for the kids, even though its a money struggle. ( I doubt I would be making much money anyway - if I had to pay for childcare - you know the dilemma! ) So - better I stay home and be the best mom I can.

At least this way I know what they are eating  and doing LOL !
