About Me
Hello Doctors, I'm a homebound 59 year old. Have not driven a car for 3 years now and a 2 1/2 year cancer survivor.
Family has to take me out for shopping, etc with use of a wheelchair for safety. I can walk in the house with use of a can but have to hold on to walks, etc with free hand. An electric scooter chair is used inside the home.
My mother's family has a neurological genetic discover, HSP/FSP, that their is no cure for. With me, there are seven known generations with this disease. A couple of problems are posture, balance, and slowness in walking. Research is done with family members, not individual to individual. There is no age limit and severity varies. This disease limits me from doing some of my favorite things. There is also a problem with dropped bladder and need for reconstructive surgery.
My doctors did not discuss having reconstructive surgery at time of breast surgery. Have seen one plastic surgeon and found out there is lot more to it than you expect. I had considered doing the wrap? surgery wanting to have a tummy tuck done with breast surgery. Was told how things would be different on both sides of stomach and how I get up and done. I all ready have trouble getting up and down. If I fall, have to crawl to furniture at the right height to use arms to push me up and get feet under me. Exercise is done for legs to not lose muscle.
What type of breast surgery do you recommend? There are bathroom problems because of bladder and disease. My doctor hopes there is a cure for HSP/FSP during my lifetime. My children would have to see a genetic/gyn doctor to see if there is a possibility of them having in the future. Have been told testing cost around $20,000.
