Hi, Wow you seem to know alot about fish oil. I can tell you my story. My doctor told me to take 2 1000mg of fish oil a day. I also get the kind "cholesterol free". I take it in the AM with breakfest and all of the other medications and yes I take it year-round. I hope this helps. Take care. Whysox
