My son is about to graduate

I had no idea how hard its was to see your only child grow into a young man. He will be graduating next week. I am happy and looking forward to it, but also very sad because I know that its the end of one chapter of his life and the beginning of another. He will always be my baby, although I know that I can't treat him that way. One of these days when he's a father he'll understand, just like when I had my epiphany.

Dear beryl, I totally understand.  My son graduates on June 29.  I will be crying tears of sadness as well as tears of joy.  It has been a long road and I am proud of how far he has come.  He received a small scholarship the other night and he was dressed in a jacket and slacks.  He looked like he felt good which is a very big deal.  There were days when i thought this day would never come.  Now it seems as though it has rushed up on me.  I have a younger son and I will go through this again.  Congratulations to you and your "little boy".  Enjoy the moment.  Step back on the day of and take mental snapshots.  See him in his suit, in his gown, waiting to go on stage, etc.  Pause your mind and see him as he receives his diploma.  You will have a great day and you will have great memories.  we look forward to seeeing the pics.  Best to you.  Bobbie
