Stress, in many forms

My last blog entry was about my son graduating from high school this year, and while that in its self is a stressfull event, there are many other stressfull things to deel with. All of us have stressfull things to deel with and I would not want to assume that mine are worse than any one else. In the last year I've gone through a total knee replacement due to many injuries, my husbands job situation has changed and many changes have occured in our church where my husband and I were youth counselors. Many of these would take a long time to explain, lets just say that when a person is used to things being stable and then they are turned upside down it can cause a great deel of emotional distress. My husbands blood preasure started going up, and because we have no insurance he was reluntant to go to the doctor, but after it got to 180ish/150ish I told him he had to go and so did his father. Now he's on some prescriptions that are not expensive and he and a friend are starting to walk. Unfortunately I can't walk with him even though my knee has healed it has agrevated an old cronic ankle injury and I need surgery on my other knee. My doctor prescribed a brace for my ankle, but its very expensive and I think that other things are more important at this time. Thats life. I think that the way a person handles stress has alot to do with ones health. I think I handle it well, and I'm trying to help my husband to handle it better. He is doing better, but we all need to know that stress is a part of our lives no matter what and that we are not alone. Just take a deep breath count to ten, and remember that someone out there has things alot worse than you.  ( I don't know why the pokie drivers are always in front of me ).

Sory about all your misfortunes this yr. You are so right even one handels things different. I have learned to think when things are going on and it is overwhemling I try and think will this really be important a month from now or 6 months from now and usally it wont be even though at the time it can be so overwhelming. If you know the name of the company who makes your brace you need call the company and then explain your situation and they may just offer to send you one you never know they will either say yes or no and none of us has died from a no yet. Well take it easy.

One problem at a time.  I know sometimes it feels overwhelming.  Your husband is doing the right thing and applause to him.  One positive thing about blood pressure meds, we can make our lives better, get healthy and get off them.  He's got a friend to walk with him, that's great.  Keep blogging.  It's a great way to get things off your chest.  Diana
