I'm 33, divorced for almost 5 years now and have no children.  I'm in a constant struggle with my health problems, and find there is no help for people who are single and have no children (or aren't pregnant) in California!  I have been without health insurance the entire time of my divorce and this has been a problem. 

I'm a type 1 diabetic and also have a few other medical problems, but I think the diabetes tops the list.  Without insurance, I have been unable to see a doctor in years, and worse than that, I am unable to afford the insulin I'm supposed to be taking daily on a regular basis.  I'm supposed to be on other medications as well.

I'm hoping someone out there might know of programs for someone like me that doesn't have insurance and, unfortunately, is laid off and is trying to survive on what California thinks a person can live on with unemployment!  Hopefully I will find a job soon so I can just have normal insurance for the first time in almost 5 years again!!
