I am 24 years old. I have been married to my wonderful husband for about 3 years now. We have 4 wonderful children. They are 12, 10, 2, and 3 months. Our two oldest have a medical condition called Nuerofibromytosis. It causes tumors all over their bodies. My 12 year old has already had one surgery on his eye to remove a tumor. He has tumors on his optic nerves. My 10 year old has tumors on his optic nerve and on his petuitary gland which effects his hormones. He has a tumor on his lung the size of a golf ball. He also has them all up and down his spine. We are constantly going back and forth between home and the doctors office in Seattle to make sure that nothing has changed. My two youngest don't have this problem thank goodness. We manage to get by with what we have. It is a challenge everyday. There is always a constant worry in the back of my mind about my two older boys and their medical condition. My oldest is a constant reminder about it also because he has some mental retardation which is just one of the symptoms of this condition. We just bought our first house. That was super exciting. I am currently potty training my daughter. That is fun. It is a test of patients. I used to have no patients at all then I had kids and now I have a lot more patients then I ever thought I would. Live is a fun roller coaster for us. I don't know what I would do if it were another way though. It keeps me on my toes all the time. I love my life and family. Wouldn't trade it for the world.
