• Bananas. This tropical fruit is rich in potassium, which the Journal of Hypertension indicates can help lower blood pressure.

• Watermelon. Nothing says “summer” more than a luscious slice of ice-cold watermelon. The University of Florida has discovered that a diet rich in watermelon may lower blood pressure in overweight individuals.
