Hello Grandma Joyce,

I take care of baby granddaughter from wed through sunday depending on the days mom works and when dad works. Dad will watch her for 1/2 day then brings her to me. I do enjoy every bit and every moment with her. She brings me laughter and helps me not thinks of my pain from Fibro. She is my blessing till my boys have theirs after college of course. It is so great to talk with you and you have so much information and widsom to share with everyone. Your blessed.

Angel!  Hi, GrandmaJoyce here.  I also have 2 little granddaughters who I do parttime care for. Their parents struggle and work several hours that I take the 2 yr old Tayte on Thurs afternoon, the 6 yr old Tegan on Friday and they both stay through Monday afternoon. Tegan's school is the only one in Mn that is 4 days a week. We all have the same rules so kids don't get a break, but this is how it was 2 generations ago, family helping raise family BECAUSE. Not due to economic situations. My aunts, uncles, grandparents all had a hand in raising me and all my cousins. We lived 50 miles from them but that was not much. My mom's mom came alot due to 5 children and 1 with special needs. I learned so much from both sets of grandparents. One farmed, the other grandma a widow when her children were small.

So I will also teach my granddaughters things I would have taught daughters (I got 3 sons-30, 27, 24.) My sons call me daily just to say hi, and that gives such a warm fuzzy. They remember the beginning of me with the severe FMS. And still trying to be the super mom. When I decided no more SM, my sons were disappointed. So they had the best years of my life!  I used to play ball, shoot baskets, sold my skates to keep me from danger. We all swim so that was the obvious way to spend our time. Hubby sinks, so he holds up a corner in the water. I do much of the same with my G.D.s. My D-I-L is grateful for all I do with her girls. She was an only child, mother rather a 'ME FIRST' person. Even with all my things that go wrong, my kids and GDs come first.
