I was recently diagnosed with this disease and so far have avoided the dreaded surgery and would like to know if anyone else has had this. The doctor says it is fairly rare but all the stuff on the Internet says different. So far I have been casted and splinted hoping that the bones in my hand don't collapse.

if you feel that your doctor is not right for you. you should seek a second opinion. often times i heard that the surgery isn't always neccessary... good luck!!

The doctor is really one of the best in the state and of course I don't really want to have surgery because it takes 4 months off of work to heal and there are no guarantees that it will be completely successful and of course that has alot to do with the hesitation and the frustration. The brace works some of the time and of course when it doesn't it really doesn't. Some days the pain is overwhelming but I keep on going. Advil works for now but it is unknown for how long.
