Don't do it yet...Wait a little longer...Your only 17...Plus I believe you must be 18..So If some is ready to give you a tat....They are breaking the Law...I have a tat, so does my husband, and my 18 year old daughter..Think hard before you do it...It is there forever..(unless you spend$$$ to remove it)..I have no regreats about mine at all.... I'm ready to get another..

Peace

I agree with Cherie, although I must say I also got a tat when I was 17.

I think teenagers opinion changes in a second and maybe you will get sick and tired of it after a month or two. Wait till you're at least 19. I've got two tats and I love them, they became a part of me, as a beautiful mole or skin accessory if you understand what I mean. But I was determined to get them and tbh I would do the same thing again, although I must admit that sometimes I do have doubts about this one I got when I was 17. But they disappear quickly ;-)

It is up to you, my advice is to wait a little longer :-)

I wouldn't do it either....Cherie is right--I think you need to at least be 18 years old to get one, but I have heard think long and hard before you get any tatoo because in later years no matter how saggy it is or isnt you might regret it.  Just my opinion.

I want you to know that everyone I've known that has had a tattoo (especially the women), the women that have had them for approx 15 yrs or more, regret having them. I have always thought to myself, that I don't want to do anything permament to my body, because I know that my feelings and thoughts about something always change, and I question how easy is it to reverse? and what are the consequences if I have it done and then find out I don't want it?  I think that when people want them, it is a sign of expression of themselves, but I think there are many other ways to express your individuality. Piercings may leave a little scar, but a tattoo, is there forever. Many think that 'oh there are ways to remove it if I change my mind'. but what are your chances that you 'really' want to go through the pain of having it removed?  Well, there you go.  Hope you have a couple thoughts to consider.

I personally think you should wait a bit until you are absolutely sure.  My son turned 18 in March of this year and got a tattoo on his arm, I gave him the go ahead because I knew he could get it if he chose because he was 18.  He went ahead and got a second tattoo on his forearm without me knowing, I wasn't to happy with him, it has since grown on me.  He, however is already second guessing his choices which are now permanent.  Just thought I'd share.  Good Post!
