I FINALLY GOT MY NIPPLES!!!!!! I had surgery in Aug. to remove the old expander / implants, along with alot of scar tissue. I t was extremely painful, but worth every moment of it. If I had to do it again, knowing I would have the same results, I would do it in a heartbeat!! Then on Nov. 2nd. I returned to New Orleans.La. for my NIPPLE RECONSTRUCTION. I was so excited. My Dr. did not let me down. For the first time in 10 yrs., I feel like a hot-blooded women again!!! And I still have the stitches in my nipples. They will come out on the 16th. My husband had always said that it didn't bother him, but to see the attention I'm getting from him now, well that will be for future updates . TO BE CONTINUED!!! TENDERHEART
Hey. I'm the lady that NEEDS TWO NIPPLES!!! I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that after having bilateral mastectomies ten years ago to prevent the pain and numerous lumpectomies, and ending up with a terrible outcome and no nipples, I now have ANOTHER LUMP! I went for my first mammogram in 10 years.I just assumed after having almost all of my breast tissue removed, that I didn't really need to be as vigilant. PLEASE DON'T BE AS STUPID AS I WAS!!! I had actually felt something there for for about five years. But I wasn't sure if it was part of the implant or not. In other words, I was in DENIAL. I finally scheduled a mammogram. They called me in for an ultrasound in two days. They sent me next to a General Surgeon to talk about surgery. After examining me and patiently listening to my story. He asked if I would travel to New Orleans,La. 300 miles one way . He new a Plastic Surgeon that he felt would be perfect for my case. He said I also had capsular contractions around both implants. i would need major surgery again. Like I Said in my original profile... Have Insurance, Will Travel! So, on 7-9-09 I went for my consult in New Orleans. I was very impressed and comfortable with him. I will return on 9-6-09 for my Pre-op visit. Then go back the next day for surgery. He will remove the lump first, send it to the lab for testing while I'm on the table. I don't know if it is malignant or not yet. In my heart, I feel that it's not. But I won't the truth until I wake up, I hope I look at my husband and he's smiling really big!!! (not like last time) They will also remove these old implants and scar tissue that has caused me trouble. Then replace them with new silicone implants (had saline before). Then I will have to wait a few months for my breasts to settle before he makes my NEW NIPPLES!!!!.So if you read this, please say a prayer for me....Tenderheart
Hey Cindy.......I'd love to be your friend!! (smiles)....you seem like a GENUINELY good lady TOO !!!
I think that the "boards"....were hiccup-ing BAD last night......a bunch of different posts were in duplicate, triplicate ETC!!! I was up all night....unable to sleep, ( I'm just coming off a BAD reaction to Levaquin-antibiotic....that shouldn't be given to people with FIBRO ) One of my MANY bad side effects from it has been Insomnia......as of last Thursday (when I went to see my Dr.) I'd only gotten like 70 hours of sleep in 18 days!!!!!!! The "crazy" thing about it is that I haven't even been tired!!
I don't know if I'd mentioned it before but Regarding my FMS/CFS, my case is SEVERE. I'm currently in the process of applying for SSDI. NEVER in my life did I think I'd be SOOOOO SICK at the age of 39- and applying for SSDI !!! It's quite maddening actually! Well- gotta get off the computer for awhile, it bothers my fibro if I sit here for too long! Talk to you later maybe... & HAPPY ST.PADDYs DAY.....watch out for little green munchkins w/ green beer!!! HA HA..HE HE !!!
Cindy- We have yet another thing in common- During my last partial vulvectomy....I also had a vaginal hysterectomy!! Mine was due to Fibroids- but it was also because, since I've developed FMS/CFS my periods were just HORRIBLE !! It seemed as if I were PMS-ing ALL month long....bad bloating, terrible lower back pain, etc, etc!! I was SOOO HAPPY to get the hysterectomy.....I feel ALOT better, not feeling as if I'm PMS-ing non stop! I'm definetely not missing that "PESKY MONTHLY VISITOR" either. LOL !! Hubby loves it too, but that probably goes without saying.......huh!!
You mentioned that you've written Dr. Ordon 3 times.......Have you written Dr. Lisa about it ?? I think she would be able to relate also......and maybe she'd ask Dr. Orden about your letters - I'm sure they probably all discuss the letters/requests that they receive. Well, I've enjoyed chatting with you...anytime you want to talk.....just send me a note, I'm always around, I don't currently work....that's how BAD my FMS/CFS is, a VERY SEVERE case. Take Care Cindy, Andrea
Cindy, I ran out of space...(the 2000 character limit)- I also wanted to tell you that I'm glad that your Hepatitis is in remission......and hope it stays that way! Now if you could just get some help with your need for nipples!! There has got to be something/someone who could help you. P.S. What a SWEET baby!!
Good Luck & God Bless.....I will be praying that you receive some answers, Andrea
Hi Cindy, I'm glad that you & your hubby have at least been able to have a sense of humor about this!! The "sucking on the toe thing-HA-HA!! This past year I've had 2 Partial Vulvectomies...so I'm missing parts (skin down there) but it's all good.....The way I look at it is : There are women out there who go spend THOUSANDS of $$ (like you see on Dr. 90120) getting various vaginal REJUVENATIONS, getting their "parts-labia" shaped up!! Well, I guess you could say that's kinda what happened to me...except mine was caused by disease. I now have a "DESIGNER CROTCH"..(to put it nicely) LOL!! I saw your posting about your husbands feet...My hubby also had a similar condition when he was younger ( before I ever knew him )....but all the skin on the bottom of his feet basically peeled away, he wasn't even able to wear shoes, it was quite debilitating! His was caused by an allergic reaction to something...I can't remember what it was right now....( Fibro Fog...this past month has been a living hell for me) but ANYHOW..he finally got it cleared up.... But it was something that went on for like a YEAR or SO. I remember he said it was AWFUL( Although my hubby never suffered from Psoriasis)
I'll be praying that you get an answer from The Doctors,.that would be awesome if Dr. Orden could help you! Have you seen that show I mentioned earlier Dr. 90210 ??? I'd think maybe one of those Drs. could possibly help too,They are GREAT DRs. ALSO , I had a friend (cyber) contact Dr. Alder ( I think he was the one) to see if he could help her with vulva issues- and he DID reply to her, but she lives in Michigan and the $$$ and distance was too much for her Do you live out West by chance? Good Luck, Andrea
my husband has been suffering with Psoriasis for about 30 yrs. He's tried everything from A-Z . Sometimes it helps for a little while, then he becomes immune to it.These "meds" are very expensive. Many years ago, he tried Tegacin. The skin on the soles of his feet peeled off until they were raw. I feel so bad for him and want to help. You don't see many shows on this subject and there are so many people suffering in silence. I think if more people like Dr.'s or scientists had it, they would do more research on it. cindyb.
Ronnie: Glad to have have helped....I am not sure how your health care works there...but here in canada- if you had surgery for a medical condition---(like cancer) your Regular GP doctor then makes the Referal to the Plastic Surgeon so that it is Covered for Billing. That way you don't pay - it is still part of treatment under your Cancer.
I had a lump on my forhead---most people would have to pay out of there oun pocket to have this removed through a Plastic Surg...but because my GP doctor stated in his report that it was causing skin stretching and pain- it was covered fully under my health care to have this Plastic Surg do it.... Which was great because a regular GP would have left a large scar had they done it.
Also it works the same way when you see your GP and conplain about your vision. Alot of the time he will then book an eye apointment to an ophthaimoiogist----again it will then be covered because it was a referal from your GP.
Hope this helps to...My thoughts and prayers are with you.
brenda-bratt Icouldn't beleive that someone answered so fast. You gave me new hope. Never heard of using baby toes. thanks so much for your comment. I, like you have had serious health issues . i had hep c and took interferon and ribovirin. i thought i was going to die. but thanks to God, I've been in remission since 2001. I hope for you only the best for you in the future. thanks cindyb.
