REVISED:::        me too...couldn't go to bathroom for months at a time. Just like you. Found out after seeing many doctors and most recently a colo rectal surgeon that my lrge intestine was suffering due to two things. FOOD ALERGIES. (primarilyy gluten intollerance). Second thing: thyroid problems caused the intestine to suffer even MORE with acute constipation. WOW>>>>Sure wished I had known this YEARS AGO. WHY?? Because I found out when it was too late, (Now my large intestine is dead and needs to be removed!!!)  If I had been porperly tested for gluten intollerance and thyroid problems earlier, I could have saved my bowels thru diet! But instead I ate gluten, not knowing my body was allergic and the constipation became more severe.  A specialist I saw many many yrs ago said to "Do whatever worked" for the chronic constipation- So I Did. For 15 years I used LARGE at home enema bags to get my bowels to move. Now here I am at age 51 with a LRGE INTESTINE that has to be surgically removed. it is called COLONIC INERTIA. MY ADVICE??? Contact a reputable medical lab (such as Enterolab) where they will send you a kit (for a fee) and you will send them a (well secured) stool sample and they will find out FOR SURE if you are gluten intollerant or have a "possiblity" to be gluten intollerant. WHY a lab? Because blood tests SPECIFICALLY for gluten intollerance (Celiac disease) are very sporadic and not nearly as concise/acurate or reliable. playwithyourkids@q.com
