Hi, just dropped in to say Hi. zMy good friend,, dan came over last night and showed me what to get for the chair massager. It's a portable battery recharger for small engines. the massager works good here at home, but when I get sitting on my power w/c it hurts a lot. The massager, and painkillers should hold me for an hour or so. Tthe horseback riding helps my legs a lot. Kathy
Wow Kathy. I hope that your chair works. But I also hope and pray that someone figures out why you are having all that pain. Muscle spacity is a symptom of MS, so maybe it is that. Who knows? I know you are tired of being dragged here and there...poked and prodded....tested and re-tested. I'm so sorry you are going through all of that. I worked all day today - 10 to 6:00 - on my feet, and am just tuckered out. Am relaxing right now in my recliner, but just sat back down after throwing together a meatloaf and getting that in the oven. Will head back to the kitchen in about 1/2 hour to fix a vegetable and some instant...yes instant mashed potatoes. LOL. My husband was going to make the meatloaf for me before I got home from work, but he's spent most of the afternoon in bed with a migraine.
Hi went to pain clinic on friday and the doctor there says I do not have diabetic neuropathy--it affects both legs and not just one. She's not sure I have MS either, but is going for the cause of my problems. I have a tremendous alot of pain in right leg. She thinks it's coming from my back. I just found a chair massager for just my back today. I hope it helps with those lousy legcramps. Chat with you soon. Kathy
I agree some people in the south can be very rude especially when the find out you are from up north. You just need to come farther south but you would melt in TX. There really is such a thing as southern hospitality. I will agree there are a few jerk that think they are better than people from up north. Let the water roll off your back like a duck. Most of my friends don't judge. You know when I was in the Poconos they thought I was dumb due to my accent. I finally got rid of it, I worked very hard to do so. People in NYC are rude, but I don't think they know it. They are just in such a hurry it comes out that way. People are strange. I had a stupid moment when I read NC I was thinking NYC!
Remember to smile and keep your chin up. You are very blessed with a beautiful family. I love your pics.

The foster care told me it would take a very long time to get little ones, I told her I didn't care teens were not for me. 2 weeks later she called and said she had good news I had and 8 mo old boy, only thing his sisters had to come, they were 2 and 4. The 4 yr old was molested by either the dad or the son, they had the same name. It was so sad - they were in foster care for petes sake! Of course I took all of them, here I was never changed a diaper, I couldn't have kids. I called my mother daily baby Frankie wouldn't stop crying, he was dry, I held him and fed him. My mom said how many times are you feeding that boy? I was feeding Frankie to much! The 2 yr old was not potty trained so I had that experience, she finally was a big girl, the 4 year old finally trusted men. I had them about 10 -12 months. The 2 yr old and baby Frankie thought I was their mom. The 2 yr old called me ma, ma I have to pee! I was broken hearted when they went back to their mom. She put them in foster care cause her boyfriend was caught with credit card fraud and she couldn't take care of them. What a &*(%. They had visits and came home smelling like pot. I couldn't believe she couldn't wait 4 hours w/o pot. But I would do it all over again. I will have to scan their pics in as they were really a big part of my life. I experienced baby, terrible 2's, sweet 4's, and teens. Not bad for someone who can't have kids.
Yes it is so pretty upstate. I was just too young to enjoy it, it was the 1st time I left home so I wallowed in self pity like the child I was. Now when I lived in Poconos it was so very pretty. I had some of the best times of my life there. I took a year and just volunteered. I was a foster mom. The 1st was a 12yr old boy. He was troubled. The mother was a crack head. I got the idea one day when I took him to counseling, I read chicken soup for the soul, I would pick the stories, and all 3 of us would sit down daily and read the stories outloud and then discuss what it meant. One day he read one and he compared it to his mom when she beat him with a belt for taking her torch and burning her drugs,. The alarm went off and they caught him and beat him that left scars. She told the counselor he was a fire setter. I convinced him he needed to tell his counselor the truth. It was on a weekend and on Mon. I was swamped with Dr's, etc,, the whole nine yards. I felt I made a change in his life. He used to hurt himself, when he felt bad, etc. I explained if he wanted attention to tell me he needed a hug today, it worked. After school started we had problems and he went to another home but I had him and another 14yr old boy (a bit slow) at the same. It was fun. I didn't know people there but the boys enjoyed delivering meals on wheels w/ me. We had a schedule, certain days we would go to the library, others the park, etc. At the same time I was helping kids who were disabled who rode horses for therapy. The boys enjoyed that too. The oldest scared me when he threw a temper tamtprem, I thought he was going to hit me and he was at least a foot taller. So I helped his life by going to live with his grandma. His stepdad punched him on several occasions but the mother wouldn't stop it. AFter those 2 I said little ones only. I'm running out of words...I will continue next
Hi Lisa, was good to hear from you. Glad you're getting along with MS better than I am. Had a reaction to Copaxone a few years ago, my doctor started me on the weekly injections. I was trying to get over both rotator cuffs torn at the same time, and the pain after the injection was unbearable for months. (Ionly took one shot). I had taken Copaxone for several years before having a reaction to it. I got real light headed and almost passed out one day. Not even a warning that something was wrong the day before. I changed doctors, and this one says I have simple Diabetic Neuropaty. He's the only doctor I have that believes this. I've had problems since the late 1970's, and became a diabetic in 1993. Oh well, I never married nor had children, but have a lot of fun with the theraputic horseback riding. I've ridden with this group for over 10 years. I'm now the self appointed class clown. A real show off!! I started riding as a preschooler, and after I graduated I worked with Thoroughbred Race Horses. I was not the scholastic type, and I don't regret working at race tracks on the east coast. Well Lisa, if you have a need to spout off at someone about MS or just want to talk, let me know I'm great at that!!! Hope you are o.k. and would like to be friends with you. Kathy
Hi Rita, I enjoy Tupperware but it's more of just a hobby. I only have parties once in awhile. I don't have a good record of recruiting - most drop off. lol It's just a little extra money when I get the whim. I do believe in the product for sure, but as I've always said, I'm not a sales person. But I am a people person and I too enjoy giving away stuff. I just had a really good party early in March and was hopeful...got 2 bookings from it, but the 1st party got only a catalog party booking, and the 2nd party was canceled and the hostess turned hers into a catalog party as well, and she got no bookings...grrr. We have such good hostess specials if they get bookings. It's not that hard to do. Oh well. I did just get my upline's contact list, as she's getting out of it, so I do have a new list to work with. I hope I get a few parties out of it to start me in the right direction again. We are having a Rally tonight, and will get a new sale flyer, then in a week or 2 there will be a new summer catalog. That's always fun as you know. Love the samples and sales aids.
You are lucky to have children. I was unable at 25 had a total hysterectomy. That threw me for a loop!
You mention the seasons, oh how I miss them. My favorite was fall. I also lived in the Poconos for 6 years. I loved the deer and watching the bear. If I saw one I would grab my camera, I remember I got chewed out pretty good for getting out to photo the bear!
When I lived in the Poconos, we would go to NYC quite a bit. Before 9-11 my friend from PA met me there when I was on a job and we went to the towers. I wanted to go to the top and she didn't but I convinced her we took great photos. I'm glad we had the experience. Went to Tavern on the Green (?) for a big Italian wedding once, wow is all I can say.
Mmmmm, sounds like you are good cook. Yummy.
You are right, live for today girl, live it to the best.
