hi pinkers, how are you doing? i'm still waiting for my guy from the UK to get here, he's trying to finish up some busineaa there before coming here. he's wanting to move someplace warm when he gets here, like CA, FL, or someplace like that. we don't have very harsh winters anymore, but he hates the cold, dampness of the UK i guess. i've enlarged the page on here but the print is still so tiny i can barely see what i am typing, it's pitiful.
Hi Cat - sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I do have degenerative disc disease. I first had a disc removed back in '93 and was fine for many years. Then about 4 years ago things took a turn for the worse. The disc above and below the first one blew out. So much pain and it kept pinching the nerve so that if I took a too long of a stride, bam down I'd go. In order to stabilize it they drilled up the center of my spine from my tail bone up (too fat for them to go in through the front as they normally would). But after a few months the rod started to move up and into the disc above and caused problems for me all over again. So I went back in and they put two more rods in, one on each side of my spine to stabilize it all. That was about three months ago and so far so good. I'm loaded up on morphine so I can't tell completely how things are right now. I do know at least that my legs aren't giving out each time I walk. So that's good. I just hate not being able to sit upright or stand for very long nor can I drive a car but that's due to the morphine and other stuff I take. All in all I take 26 pills a day. My bathroom looks like a pharmacy! But the next plan of action is if the pain continues, I'll have one of those Vargus pain blocker gizmos put in. From what I know it blocks the signals of pain to the brain so you don't feel the pain any longer. I would have had one of those put in first but I wanted to be sure that I would't cause myself further injury not knowing what the pain was all about.
Sorry to hear about all the troubles you have. I hope you find the right treatments for you and get the relief you need.
This Control and the Plus key trick will work with most current browsers including IE7, and IE8, Google Chrome, and FireFox. Holding the Control and tapping the Minus key will make it smaller. :) With some browsers if you click VIEW at the top of the screen you can "ZOOM" the page.
Hi Cat! Just stumbled on your profile and read where you have problems reading the small text also. Now I'm not sure if it's because I have a IE7 Pro loaded to my IE but I can press my ctrl and + and it increases the size of the web page I'm looking at. IE7 is a gizmo that was shown on the IE add-ons once. I don't wish to advertise stuff but it's been helpful to me in loads of different ways. http://www.ie7pro.com/
Nice to hear from you! Glasses are certainly a necessity as we get older, and I think that just so sucks!!LOL! I never really wore glasses until a few years ago, but my close up vision was fading fast....chuckle, and when could not see the eye of the needle to thread my sewing machine-I knew something was up (I am smart that ways sometimes!)!
It is so awesome that you took in the other kitties! What a good heart you have-I love my cats, but also feed a few strays that show up now and again. I have a greenhouse out back, so have cut a small access hole for the strays to get in to get out of the snow/wind/rain. I have put a little 'covered cat house' with blankies in it in there for them as well if they need to have a cozy nap.
I am a seamstress, knee deep in prom season right now-sewing hems, beads and tulle on various and assorted gowns. My house is an explosion of puffy dresses! I am working about 8-12 hours most days now till end of June. I love sewing, so that is the big plus about my job, the second being that I have been able to work out of my own home.
Hope your week is a good one...I have to boogie...have a grad fitting in 5 minutes, then off to dinner with my hunny!
So..if you are finding the small print blurry, you might just need an easy reader that you can purchase at any drugstore, or Target even. I was having age related vision issues and started out with these! They are anywhere from $10-40 depending on how fancy you want them. Just try on asst magnifications at the store until you find one that makes things clear(they usually have a small chart by the glasses). I have since progressed to an enhanced reader that I get from my optometrist!
So, I LOVE cats too! I have 3 of my own, and 3 part time (they belong to neighbors, but the cats come to visit at my place 'cuz maybe I have better food and cat toys)! I also grow my own catnip on the deck, cuz my cats love it fresh!! I supply my friends with some fresh catnip for their cats too! My cats are all adopted thru the local SPCA, and have all been spayed/neutered-so we have happy, easy-going cats with very different personalities!
I like to think I have a good sense of humor, and that helps with the aging thing-I believe it helps keep you young if you can laugh at alot of things!
Welcome to our family here.Alot of nice people.I also love cats and love people who have a sense of humor.I love to joke around and have some fun on here.

I am not sure what web browser you are using , but there is a way to make print bigger.
To increase the font size you can try holding down the CONTROL button on your keyboard and pressing the PLUS key.
