About Me

Anyone can read my profile on Myspace or Facebook or on The Doctors Site.   I love to write,  I have a very active imagination.  Friends have always said I should be a professional writer and I admit that I am at peace letting my imagination flow at a computer.  The same is not true when it comes to reading.  I hate to read.  You will never find me in a book club.  I am a visual person and don't have the patience to read what I can watch.

I am a huge animal lover.   A Democratic/socialist/liberal.  I am always for the underdogs.   I support President Obama.

I have the ability to keep friends with opposite views because I always tell them “believe what you want to believe, it has nothing to do with me.”  They can tell me their view but it goes in one ear and out the other.  I ask them to respect mine.  It’s a real art when you can neutralize and not let others opinions effect who you are.

I love all animals, but I'm mostly a cat person.  I can't count how many type-o's found on my stories that are caused by my cats walking across my keyboard because they are jealous I am not petting them:)

I listen to rock or blues exclusively.

I am single and do not have children.

I live on Galveston (Island) and find the ocean my retreat.  I never go to the beach during the day because I am afraid of sun damage and can't take the heat, but cherish the vision of the moonlight shimmering silvery patterns across the waves at night.  I often open my windows at night to take in the hypnotic sound of the ocean.  I love to sit on the Seawall at night (with friends) and feel the ocean breeze blowing my through my hair, and I always remove my shoes and savor the wind blowing through my toes.  This is real therapy for me.  I like living on an Island, where the speed limit is 35. Most Islanders drive slower (about 25-30) and no one is in a hurry. We have the most beautiful architecture of castle-like buildings, and old Victorian historical homes.  You can visit the Bishop's Palace, or tour the Historical District, or google it on-line.

I not only believe doctors save us but give credit to the people below for their healing gifts.  I always tell people that during the most depressed times of my life Comedians healed me with laughter, not televangelist ...comics.

Blessings to the people I view as Sensory Gods, such as Actors, Artist, Musicians, Comics, Producers, Photographers, or people who are great Humanitarians to the world.  How superhuman to be able to captivate us visually, soothe or excite us with music, to bring laughter into a hurting world, or to give comfort to those in need.  I like opening my page to honor them.

My birth father is Bill Braskey.  My stepfather Charlie Meyer raised me since the age of 4.  He was a good family man & best dad anyone could ask for.  He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on 2-11-09.

My lineage is Mostly (Hungarian)Jew & Irish.  My siblings look Irish with blue eyes, and I look Hungarian-Jew.  Braskey is a Jewish name. Jewish people migrated to Hungary in the 11th century. (Maybe that is why I've always felt some kind of bond to the Jewish faith, but not solely practiced it, as if I was a reincarnated spirit of holocaust events. I felt that my whole life.)

(Judaism is derived from Judea, and is the monotheistic religion of the Jews. The People/Nation of Judea and Israel share a belief system that was once consecrated, sanctified, and set apart from the Canaanite nations and Egypt in the Ancient World. These belief systems still continue today and all "Jews" or "Hebrews" are called to set themselves apart for holiness and sanctification that is always challenging a culture or way of life that is antithetical to well...life. The ancient neighbors of Israel were extremely debaucherous, immoral, unethical, deathly, and perverse and so the people of Israel/Jacob were called to create a kingdom of life, heaven, peace on earth. They segregated themselves and set apart themselves and only revere the YHVH as their divine deity. The YHVH is the power of the universe, its energy, its strength, and it is very very very good. YHVH means "IT IS" or "HE IS" in Hebrew signifying this eternal power that always is, was, and will be. It is a creative force in all BEING and was provoked to wrath and death with the surrounding ancient cultures at the time of the birth of the nation of Israel. This is "Judaism" as best explained in a very brief and short summary that is one the world’s oldest religions, with almost 4000 years of history.)

My calling should always be in social service for people or animals.  My soul feels absolutely miserable if I am not exercising this.  I know for a fact, If I won the lottery, I would not be thinking of what I would buy for myself.  It would be my true heart's desire to travel the world (like Princess Diana) and give charity for all the days of my life.

I have a genuine heart in everything I do.  When I was younger I had a lot of extremely wealthy men interested in me.  In fact, one was on the cover of Forbe's Magazine as one of the Richest in the world.  He was so crazy over me, he had other people campaigning to get my attention for him.  Another boyfriend won a multimillion dollar settlement after his family was killed in a auto accident caused by a drunk driver that was served too much by a famous restaurant chain.  I was honest & kind enough to admit that my heart was not in the relationships, and tell them no amount of money could persuade me.  I couldn't fake an emotion.

My favorite memories in life will not be my material possessions, they are touching moments like the way my (super) fat orange cat, "Coccopelly" insists on sleeping on my head every single night.  It's like wearing a cat turban to bed.  Or the way the other cats compete for a spot on my desk while I am on the computer because they have separation anxiety and can't stand to be away from me. Material things come & go, but memories and experiences last forever.

My favorite perfumes are flowery, like Beautiful, Pure White Linen, Ysatis, or Oscar De La Renta. I like Opal or Pearl jewelry because it's so feminine. I love to dress up and wear beautiful clothes.

My favorite quotes: "I will experience everything in life, so on the final journey to my death - the night will not be haunted by regret."

"I will not worry about yesterday or tomorrow, I will live in this moment."

I love rich tones like Turkish or India reds, burgandy, wine, cranberry, violets, corals, purple, blues, turquoise, burnt oranges and golds.  I feel the life drain out of me in a neutral or earth toned room.  I love India or Persian styles like in the movie, The Love Guru, or especially Robert Downy Jr's apt in the movie Fur with actress Nicole Kidman.  That decor was ideal to me.  If I could design my own home it would have key-hole entrances like India castles, multicolored tiles, lots of turquoise, India or Turkish reds, Purples, blue-hues, golden hues, and exotic beaded things, fluffy rugs, and floor pillows. It would be an extra bonus if Carter Oosterhouse was designing it, and I could swoon over his awesome looks and follow him from room to room. (Ha.)

I have always been attracted to tall thinnish men, lean or slightly worked out, but I am not attracted to huge muscles. I hate facial hair of any kind, no mustache, or beards . . . they do make razors for that.  I have always dated dark haired men, and only one blonde. If you look at my fantasy men you will know I appreciate sexy hair that is a little long.  I h-a-t-e it when men buzz off their hair.  I l-o-v-e Oliver Martinez, nobody can compete with him in my mind. Sure, he is a sexual icon to hundreds of thousands of woman all over the world, but if you watch his interviews when he is not acting he is genuinely funny, and exudes a inner laugher from his spirit that makes you feel comfortable in a conversation, he once said, "I'm not crazy about my time, It's like I was born ... you have this sentence of a French boy 'I'm born too late in a world too old' I share that.  I feel I am not in my place -bad timing." I believe him.  He seems very sensitive to the world around him and not superficial.  Perhaps, he is the reincarnated soul from another time. His voice is intoxicating.  He speaks with love and honor of his family. I like the way he uses his eyes to look directly into the soul of the person he is interviewing with.  He is more than a sexual icon. He is the kind of person you could sit in a room with each day of your life and feel like one lifetime of knowing him is not enough. I believe even if his looks ever fade, there will be that sparkle of his spirit still glowing for all who know him.  Oh my gosh, Carter Oosterhouse is so heavenly too.  I get so excited every time I watch his commercials or shows.  He is sexy.  Him or Oliver?  Hmmmm? I can't leave out Fabio or Antonio Banderes. I think American Idol's Adam Lambert is Hot, gay or straight...   I like looks yes, but, I love a truly kind heart filled with compassion for others and someone who makes me laugh. I’d never be interested in the macho type.  And they must love cats and animals.

I love all animals: I've had dogs, but confess I favor cats.  I feed the birds, and squirrels.  I am always trying to doctor all the neighborhood animals.  I used to love it when all the neighborhood children would arrive at my door calling me "Momma cat" with various injured or lost animals, and I'd watch the excitement in their eyes, as I'd praise them for saving and helping little animals, and they'd smile from ear to ear as they helped me doctor the little animal.  I have those treasures in my heart forever.

The most memorable romantic affair I ever had was with a m-u-c-h younger Turkish student visiting the USA.  I was 44, he was early 20's. I'll never forget his light olive skin, Mediterranean Sea colored eyes, sexy hair, (it was slightly long) stunning teeth, hot body, great affection, and his kindness. He made me feel beautiful.  I admit to being a couger. (Men have done this for centuries.)  Men are naive if they think they are the only ones who lust after younger women.  Women look at younger men exactly the same. (I don't have a problem dating younger men or men my own age.) There is something so beguiling & enduringly cute about someone who is foreign.  Playing charades to communicate creates laughter, because every word spoken sounds funny, and is different in meaning. I never laughed so much in my lifetime.  I will never forget him.  Too bad he had to return to Turkey.  I wish him the best life ever.

I don't understand prejudice.  I find other cultures fascinating.  I like listening to what and why they believe certain things.  I will remove myself from a room of people exercising prejudice.

The Most Romantic thing anyone ever did for me:  When I was younger in my 20's I had to visit West Houston Hospital to be hooked up to a holter-monitor for my heart for 72 hrs.  Walking through the hospital I kept feeling someone following me.  An attractive man entered the elevator with me.  He was dressed in business attire.  He started asking me, what the machine I was hooked up to was.  I started naively explaining, the machine was to monitor my heart valve problem, and I'd need to be hooked up for 3 days.  He then handed me his business card.  He was a Cardiac Surgeon.  He flirtatiously offered to personally monitor me for 3 days.  I accepted.  He arrived with a gift of matching scrubs for me to wear that matched his, and a teddy bear and we sat in my room wearing the  matching scrubs and getting to know each other for the testing (and after).  It was fun! I loved riding in his jaguar, and all the great restaurants he took me to, but his classical music drove me away.

I am a survivor of Galveston, Texas's Hurricane Ike Sept.2008, and lost everything in the disaster and had to start over from zero.
