Skin tags are said to be harmless and can be removed easly at the Doctors office. They did not memtion that skin tags can create a shy almost shameful perception about ones apperance. I spent some time as a Deputy Sheriff in our county during several interviews with people at the seen of a few crimes they were ask what did the person look like? I was surprise to hear their description he was tall and had a lot to those skin thinges all over his neck, they were ask if you were close enough to see them what kind of features did his face have and they couldnt give a description of the person standing right in front of them. Now that I am older I have started the dredded attack of the skin tags. I struggled with my apperance all my life being a poor Tenn. child growing up and now this taged for life. I am not a rocket sciencetist but the mental stress has become so stressful that I have taken things in my own hands and started with a small pair of scizors cutting them off. I can withstand the pain of cutting the skin but boy some of them bleed like a stuck hog and that is the on problem to be careful with. So far I have cut several off around my neck and shoulders with only one bleed for about a day or so. The rest of them only bled for a little while and caused only reding in those areas. I am impulsive at times, there are better ways to do it. Let the Doctors do it if you can afford it which, i couldnt there are numbing agents you could us (a fifth of whiskey is not one) or freeze them off. Now that i have cut them off my neck I have a sense of relief from the ugly yet harmless visual aids that haunted me for so long. So there is hope for taking care of skin tags the relief is worth the pain for meand it could be for you but do it the right way.

Dear Thomas,
My husband also, has skin tags. His are under his arms. You can see them, when he wears tank top shirts. The good thing about him, he doesn't care who sees them. I have seen him like you, remove them himself, with all kinds of different tools. Nail clippers, his pocket knif, ect.. Only when they are bothering him. Pain, or what ever reason he has to remove them. I need to ask him If they come back. My husband is a Builder, with no INSURANCE. (I hate that word) He has pulled his own teeth!! to save on the cost. It's not a good idea at all!! What I have seen him do to his body. I don't know why people get them. I don't have them. Are kids don't have them either. I always try to get him to go to the Doctors. But he is what you might call a mannly man, tough guy on the outside. Teddy Bear on the inside. His look are: he is a Big man...Not a trouble maker..I have seen people move aside, when he is walking by. Like a woman clutching her purse, if she thinks she is in Danger. I just shake my head go about my bussiness. Our little Niece's have pointed, asking (What's that Uncle Brian) I can't remember what he says, But the conversation will end with laughing little girls.
Peace
Cherie
You stop that! Bad Thomas! You could get a infection and then where would you be..? Huh? Don't make me come over there!! I'm small, but don't let that fool you, I'm complete dynomite. LOL
*hugs*

OH, Thomas, let the doctors do that, please. My brother has skin tags. I was concerned awhile back because I'd never seen them before. I did some research and found out they were skin tags. My brother is a big guy and has a muscle missing in his chest but he doesn't care. I do hate that he doesn't care about himself, actually, I think he cut one off too. But, he doesn't let the small things bother him.
Some people can be so insensitive to other's feelings. I hate that in a person. But I look at is as they are the ones with the problem. They must be so insecure about themselves that they have to degrade others for things that are out of their control. That's all it is Thomas. They are just insecure about themselves.
Please take care. Faith
And PS. I'm not trying to make myself out to be perfect in any way. I have been insensitive myself but when I have been, I've thought it over and tried to make it right. I do hate that in other people and try not to be that way myself. I've had to change playgrounds and try to keep myself around positive people. It's hard when you live around so many neg. people like I do. Anyway, hope your day is going well. Faith
I have skin tags and they are not fun. My doctor told me that skin tags can appear anywhere skin touches skin - underarms, for women underneath their breasts, the neck, etc. They can be effectively removed by your doctor through freezing them with cyrogen, a very cold substance (liquid nitrogen at a temperature of – 196 °C) that a q-tip instrument is dipped into and then placed on the skin tag(s) for a few seconds. Because it is so cold it may feel like it is burning, but that passes. The doctor holds the tip on each skin tag for 10-20 seconds, depending on its size. It does hurt for a while afterwards if the wind brushes it etc. But for me, I'll take the short-term pain over the long-term downfalls of these things, which include itching and if you happen to scratch by one, it will hurt like heck. My doctor does this for free for me because it is something genetic in our family. My father has them, my brother does and I do. My mom also has them. It is always best to check with your doctor but they are usually not serious or dangerous, just obnoxious. :)
