Drs Board 1 & @ & Dr Stork -

For me, this effort toward researching ED stress is about being the change in the world you want to see (- Gandhi).  I hope I can find some support here.

Despite apparent disagreement on lyme disease, I think you've put together a good show which does help people make better choices.  So thanks to everyone on the Drs team for making that "change" in the world.

Drs Board 1 & 2 & Dr Stork -

I understand Dr Stork has many demands of his time.  I am doing my best to be respectful of this and still achieve a good outcome here.  I will continue this project/research with or without Dr Stork.  However, my job is to steward the research (and the researcher) and find the right gurus for the best benefit to all. 

Adversity can built heroes or victims depending on the "emotional tools" available.  Community health is built upon individual health and with so much adversity in the ED, I see opportunity to build better individuals and communities using ED stress support and education -  providing "tools" for all involved: patient (pt), significant others and med professionals.  Working towards understanding how to lay this groundwork and start blazing a path for this research this my goal. I believe many re-visiting ED pts might benefit from this, as would over-crowded, financially strapped EDs - ultimately I see a reduction in repeat ED visits and better individual health and community health if I can be successful.  This area ED stress needs work - and lots of it.

II will continue do my best to find other gurus, but I feel the work would be significantly lacking without Dr Stork's input.  Understanding the workings of the ED through economic eyes is critical for this work.  I do hope he will be willing to advise me.  I push hard when I think I'm doing the right thing.  Heck, I bike in top gear because switching gears is too hard for me... (I lose my balance if I shift - cognitive lyme remnant).  I will to my best to get the right answers... from famous people or not.

I desperately hope I have made my argument.  I really think this research will be severely lacking with out such input.  Can I provide anything else?  Is there anything else I can possibly do here?

Thank you for your advice.  I have submitted a letter both by the method you mention "Ask our Drs" and via "Ask Dr Stork".  I am working very hard and taking on a lot of risk to get this research done.  After speaking with others at VU, I have the gut feeling Dr Stork's views are critical.  Is there nothing else you can advise?

I am becomeing a VU grad student to study emergency department (ED) stress.  I've talked with others at VU and it is becoming increasing clear Dr Stork has much to add to what I'm attempting to do.  Despite people calling for it, ED stress support is poorly researched and intervention is weak for all involved:  med staff, pt and significant others.  I need all the help I can get.

I have been advised to contact Dr. Stork via this site.  Yesterday afternoon I sent a message via "Ask our Doctors" on this site. Today I sent a message via "Ask Dr. Stork".  I really need Dr Stork's council... my premise includes understanding and discussing economic forces influencing the presence or absence of psych/SW support.

Is there any way I someone could confirm find out if my message was forwarded to Dr. Stork?   I really need as much help as I can get as soon as possible. 

Please forgive the username - its my horse's name - "Duke's of Hazard" influenced.... he was a definate coot...
