Hi ya'll. I came across an article the other day and wanted to share with everyone. Some group had performed a scientific study and took 2 groups, gave them the same amount of calories and exercise. One group got 4 1/2 to 5 hrs of sleep and the other group got 7 1/2 to 8 hrs of sleep each night. At the end of 2 weeks, the group with 8 hrs of sleep had lost 51% more fat that the sleep deprived people! Shocking!!
Not only were the sleep deprived people losing LESS weight, they said they were MORE hungry because some hormone is released into your body when you don't get enough sleep. Ughhhhh!
I usually get around 5 hrs...so I have been forcing myself to go to sleep early or when I actually feel tired and no naps. I was sabotaging my own diet success. I'm going to switch to de-caffeinated green tea for my dinner. So everyone try to get a good nights sleep and burn that fat baby!

Wow! What a difference! I knew sleep was important to weight loss, but jeez!
Hi Suntan38. Thanks for wanting to be my friend. I look foward to being your friend as we encourage each other during this challenge. Good luck with the weight loss.
I've heard that before actually. I do try to get 8 hours, but all of us busy Moms know sometimes that's hard to do.
Thanks for the remiinder I tend to burn the candle at both ends!

Hi all, for years I have had no more that six hours sleep per night, and in between I have to use the bathroom always one and a half hours after I sleep at the start. However I think its the amount of tea with caffeine I drink per day. I see on here that green tea seems to be what to have throughout the day without caffeine? Please give me any more ideas to help me sleep better throughout. Thank you.
