Yes, I'm alive and well.

Hi All, I'm so sorry for being absent for so long.  After the taxes were done for everyone and myself (I owed), I was trying to help a sick friend.  It has taken much of my spare time, but definitely well worth doing.  I promise to try to keep in touch better, although my friend will still need some help along the way. I thank you for the wonderful birthday wishes that were sent to me! ...

Between 50-64? Need Insurance? There's Hope!!

NRLN Efforts Validated By AARP Report           The AARP released a report this week that further validates the National Retiree Legislative Network's legislative initiative that retirees between ages 50 and Medicare eligibility at age 65 should have the option of buying into Medicare at an age-adjusted premium.         AARP officials have now joined the NRLN in calling on Congress to take action on behalf of 50-to-64-year olds who are particularly vulnerable to higher health...

Death Hidden in the Stimulus Plan

The Culture of Death Hidden in the Stimulus Plan Look closely at the stimulus plan and the "hidden health care initiatives" contained within. Not only have the baby boomers paid into a Social Security system that is on death row, lost their promised pensions from employers declaring bankruptcy and are now watching their retirement plans decimated by the robber barons of Wall Street, we can now look forward to being left on the side of a mountain to die. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Update - 4th Acupuncture

Had my 4th acupuncture today.  Decided not to push myself like I did last time, but just to be lazy the rest of the day/evening, and see how I feel tomorrow.   I will say so far so good as pain goes.  Still a bit achy in the low back, but the sharp pain in gone completely.  The ache I can handle. I did fine out that acupuncture is good for many things that conventional treatment sometimes...

It just might be working!

Went for my acupuncture yesterday.  No noticable improvement last night.  Today however, I woke up feeling a bit better.  I decided to try it out to see what I could do.  I went to lunch with a friend, then went to the gas station and pumped gas, then went to the grocery store and walked around for about an hour, then came home and put it all away, and then fixed dinner!  I didn't really...

2nd Acupuncture

Had my 2nd acupuncture yesterday.  So far nothing to relieve the pain in my back.  I will say that it has helped the IBS noticably, but that's not my primary goal.  It has also helped somewhat with the sinus problems.  This last time when the needles were in my face I could actually feel something moving around in my right sinus cavity.  I still have hope that it will help with the back pain, but...

New Experience

Had an interesting day.  Went for my first acupuncture.  Takes 3 to 5 treatments to tell if it’s helping they say, but I think it took some of the “edge” off the stabbing pain.  Not a lot, but I could feel a little difference.  How strange to have needles sticking out all over one’s body.  I not only got treated for my back, but for my sinus and IBS.  Forgot to mention the occasional vertigo,...

Good Day and some research.

Today was a good day.  Loved The Doctors show with the dancing and cutting up between the Doc's.  Also loved the fact that they previewed Acai berry on the show.  See......I didn't lead you all in the wrong direction!  Made me feel good to be affirmed by the Doc's.  Also managed to get out and have lunch with a friend at TGIFriday's which lifted my spirits, despite the slight limp from the back stuff.  Happiness...

Recipe Wanted

Does anyone out there have a recipe for carrot cake that includes grated carrot, pineapple and chopped nuts?  I lost mine, and can't seem to find another like it.  I realize this is a "doctors" site, but heck carrot cake must be good for you, right? Thanks, Sunnie

Finally some pictures from me!

I added some pictures so you guys will sort of know who I am.  I tried to add one of my wedding, but it was too big.  Will have to reduce it, and then I will post it.  That was when I was a red head. My dilemma is whether or not to keep my hair the natural white, or to go back to dying it what was my natural color of reddish brown earlier...

To Jeffhubbydaddy

Tried to add this to your page, but it wouldn't go.  Tried it 3 times.  Maybe it will work later, but meantime this is what I said. Hi Jeff, Hope you don't mind if I shorten the name a bit.  Thanks for inviting me. I have degenerative disc disease in my lower spine. L-3, L-4, L-5.  Also have a severe problem with my right sacral joint.  Can't stand for more than 30 minutes, and walking...

Hi Everyone

Someday I will learn how this site works.  Always seem to manage to get to the wrong place.  Turns out I sent myself a message instead of posting it here.  DUH!  What I meant to post is below: Sorry I haven't been much of a writer lately.  Have had quite a bit of problems with my back.  Was going for physical therapy twice a week, and pelvic rehab once a week.  Anything to try to help. ...
