I went to the doctor today, my husband drove me, I've been short of breath and light headed, and I now have 3 abcesses. The doctors office took my bloodpressure, it was Ok, but my pulse after waiting in the waiting room for 45 min. was 140 beats per min. They did and EKG and took blood, I won't get the bloodwork results for about a week, but the high heart rate explains the shortness of breath, weakness, and lightheadedness. I'll be taking Beta blockers to slow down my heart until we figure out why it's so fast. I'm not excited about that as the last time I took beta blockers they knocked me out cold, well see. I do have MRSA in at least 3 places again, we are going to do Bactrim again with Visteril, to counteract the allergic reaction, he said if my tongue swells again or I have shortness of breath from the bactrim again to go to the ER. My job called yeasterday and asked me to come in today and I had to said no due to the MRSA and heart stuff, and I'm concerned I'm going to lose my job. Anyway that's the latest.

Im so sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. My prayers are with you. Hope your blood work comes back o.k. I'm still sleeping a lot. When I wake up at 4 a.m. I go back to sleep again for an hour. Then I go back to sleep for another hour. Then I'm up a few hours. After lunch another nap. Then up for a few hours more.Hope this wears off soon. Kathy

Thanks for all the help. I slept almost all night last night. Will stay with this dose of Valium for a week or 2 then cut back 2 1/2 mg each week or 2. It's going to take me longer than I thought to wean off this stuff. But I will do it. Kathy
About the horseback riding, I have had a lot of fun with that. When I rode the paso fino and t he others were tyrotting, I had him in second gear called a Corto. Someone made the remark that I was bouncing more up top than at the bottom. I told them there's only one way to stop that. I need a cast iron bra! LOL. The instructors and volunteers laughed at that one!
The one reason why I love the theraputic horseback riding is because for 10 years I was totally confined to a w/c now I can walk a little. Before riding my right leg was bent back. They walked the horse out of the loading ramp to tighten the girth on the bareback pad, and within 10 steps my leg dropped down and relaxed .
We have 2 riders going to the american Royal Horse Show in Kansas City this week. Their show is Friday morning for preliminaries and top ten go back Friday Night. They've gone before and the worst they've done is 3rd, out of 17 or 18 riders. Wish them luck! Betty is the main instructor and is using how much the program is helping me for a grant for Scholarship funds.
How are you doing tonight? Hope you're feeling better. Hope they find a cure for MRSA for you.
Google MRSA and send your boss a copy! This super bug is nothing to sneeze at. ALSO have your doctor right up a dignoses and have that put into your employee file...KEEP the original. This is for YOUR protection. If you get fired you can look into filing a wrongfu termanation against the company.
I had MRSA in November 06. I was sick for 5 months. I also found myself in the ER with a rapid heart rate. They said it was because I was so dehydrated. I had been throwing up for 2 days straight and could'nt even keep water down.
Good luck!
my heart, lungs and joints are affected, i have high blood pressure, i'm asmatic(have to carry an inhaler now) and i sometimes sound like popcorn poping when i stand up. what's really so bad is people will look at you and say 'you don't look sick' or they tend to feel, think, or suggest you are faking being ill. my own family has disowned me, my only support i have is my daugther, she's 32 lives in mississippi with her husband and 2 boys. so even she can't be there all the time or at times that are scary for me. my 2 older sisters told me i should be ashamed to come out in public because of the way i look. i'm glad to here your husband is there for you. my mom was my help, but she died 16 years ago. but she was one of those who always thought that i was just lazy and making up being sick; when the doctor told her that i was indeed sick and that it was terminal, she said and show how sorry she was till she died. we became the best of friends! i'm glad to know someone else "LIKE ME" i know that's sick or sad to say, cause i don't wish this on my enemy; but i hope you know what i mean. i'm a surg-tech but couldn't keep my job cause i couldn't stand and do 12-16 hour surgeries(those were always the ones i got). which makes me wonder how many lupus suffers use to or still does work in the health field?
