Hey all, how do I take it easy for my health and still live my life like I need to? I wish there was an easy formula for finding balance, fullfilling my responcibilities as a wife and mother, and getting the rest I need to stay Lupus Flare Free. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hey Barb and all,
I had a busy day, I took my 2 kids to their first day of school this morning, then I took my hubby to his first day of school this morning in Stillwater, it is about an hour and a half drive. We got home and had something to eat together, then hubby went off to bed. Then I waited for the kids to get home and tell me all about their day. I signed all the first day papers, helped with homework, ordered pizza (to celebrate first day of school) fixed Rebekah's Bike, fixed the TV in the living room, helped the kids get ready for tomorrow, now I have to go get them baths, and make sure they properly prepare for bed, and get them in it! Whew! I am trying to take it easy so I don't get sick again, but there is just sooooooooo much to do it seems like. I am trying though. A good mom would have made something special for dinner not gotten pizza, but I guess it will do for now. Yesterday was busy too, we went school shopping at Staples (big mistake, no matter what the ads say, Walmart is definately much much cheaper) they didn't have everything, so I took Bekah to Youth Group at church, then hubby me and Rachel went to dinner (Mexican food, hubby and I shared some Fajitas) I ran hubby to Walgreens to pick up some Rx, then I brought him home so he could go to work. Then off to get some gas (real gas, no ethanol) I needed a carwash, but the station with real gas their carwash was broken, so I had to drive to another carwash after I filled up, got the car washed, then off to Walmart to get the school supplies Staples didn't have. Walmart had everything, and I was shocked at how much cheaper it was than Staples (I can't believe I was soooooooo stupid). Then I went to church to pick up Rebekah, she was playing Guitar hero, she's really good at the drums, I was impressed! Then we went to Academy so the girls could pick out their back packs for school. Then we came home and sorted the school supplies, packed the back packs, picked out clothes, and I had to do some laundry. I washed the girls hair, blow dried, and fixed it for school and then chased them to bed, they were just too excited. And it was late when I finally got them to bed. I got to bed at 1:30am and of course I had to get up at 7 to get everyone ready for school and myself ready to take hubby to school, he had a meeting today in a very large classroom, so I just went with him and sat in. LOL All was well until the lead Professor asked everyone to go around the room and introduce themselves, Oops, I just skipped me, the professor seemed a little confused but didn't ask me who I was, Thank goodness. Whew! Most of the people in his class group knew who I was. Marta, the woman who owns the horses is the Administrative Assitant over the whole department, so she knew who I was, she asked my husband jokingly if he had begun drinking already this morning to need a driver, she knows he works nights, and why I had driven him, but it was really funny. Now I'm tired. I am trying to be good, but....................HOW?

Hi there Sleep Tech, Your life sounds so buzy that it makes me tired just thinking of all You do! You are an amazing gal. It also sounds like Your Sweetie is a very buzy guy! Time management is a real stinker! I really don't know how You do it all, but if You can't find a soultion soon ,I am afaraid when it all catches up to You You'll pay the price. Is there anyone going the same way to the Youth Group that can help with driving so You can swich turns with so You can gain alittle time to rest? Or that Your hubby can ride with to school and gain some more rest time?I'm sure You have thought of these things but what the heck i thought I'd ask anyway. I wish You and Your Family the best.I'll be praying for You. Miliba

Hi,
Have you tried a schedule?
Sounds crazy but other than the
weekends, I am in a rut! I do the
same routine every day, and yes
the dogs are on a schedule too!
lol......Sludge
First of all, you are not well, so I suggest you not beat yourself up. You know you bruise easily. LOL. But seriously, how many of us would still be standing after doing all that in one day while fighting an illness. Is there anyone nearby who you can carpool with? It seems you might be able to hand some of the responsibility to the girls. They are older now. As far as pizza for dinner, my kids would be delighted with that. We all love pizza. No shame in giving your kids a meal that has sauce, cheese and bread. that is three of the food groups. you are doing fine. Your family loves you and they don't expect more of you than you can give so stop trying so hard before it is too late!!!!! I love you girl. Feel better soon. Love, Bobbie
