Hey all,
Those of you that are fearful of spiders will understand. A few hours ago I felt something tickling my neck, well I did get my hair all chopped off so I thought it was my hair and brushed my hand across my neck, no biggie. My daughter Rachel came over to the back of the couch where I was sitting and we were laughing about the Virtual Road Trip blog, when I felt something tickling my arm. My daughter thought she had seen a fly, I asked where did it go, she was looking up my sleeve on my shirt and said she didn't know when I screamed stood up and shook out my shirt. I told her I thought the fly had bit me, but it was just a fly right, oh well. I got up to check to see if the girls cleaned up their lunch mess and went into the restroom, I looked up at the mirror just in time to see a good sized spider with stripes walking over my shoulder!!!! I screamed grabbed a towel and killed it on my shirt, ooooohhhhhhhh it's been crawling on me probably for hours and I think that is probably what bit me, aaaagghhhh!!! Now I am all creeeped out, I feel like I have things crawling all over me, eeeewwwwwwwww! I am soooooooo freaked out right now. I'm sure some of you think this is silly if you have no fear of Spiders, but for those of you like me with Arachnophobia, you may understand my current state of creeped out right now. EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW it's like I can feel them walking on me. Be back after another shower!

I don't even like flies on me,or even when I hear them buzzing I have to get up to find where they are and swat them.Yuk a spider on you.....when the grandkids were here we were sitting outside and a grasshopper landed on my leg,I screamed and jumped up.That freaked me off but of course they thought it was funny.Boy's what can I say????

OMG i would have died! i am so scared of spiders its not even funny! thats the only bug (whatever) that i cant handle! so i get what ur saying i would be in panic mode!!! lol
LOL, isn't funny how when I thought it was a fly that bit me I was fine with that, but then when I discovered it was a spider I was freaking out? I went and took a bath, I submerged myself in the water, washed my hair (Now I have to fix it again :0( ) I scrubbed all of my skin off with a foot brush and salt scrub (I had to stop the creepy crawlies) I went to scrub my arm and hair that was on the brush had gotten kind of balled up, it came off on my arm and I was screaming again! LOL I thought it was another spider. I got out of the tub, shook out the towel and dried off, shook out my clothes and got dressed, checked my hairbrush for spiders didn't see any and ran the brush through my hair. I'm feeling a bit better now, other that my skin is kind of sore from the cruel scrubbing it got. Oh well, at least I don't feel like I have spiders crawling on me, I just feel like my skin is on fire. LOL (On a positive note - My skin feels really soft now)
I really don't have any kind of bug-a-phobia or anything.. but spiders and roaches make me want to jump on someones head and stay there till they are removed.. LOL My ex used to have me rolling on the floor at him.. he was a this huge guy with muscles and screamed like a girl over bugs HEHEHE I learned from that point, if I wanted them removed.. I'd have to do it myself. It calmed my fears over a lot of them.. but spiders and roaches still get to me. I was at a friends house one night and out of nowhere came this huge FLYING roach.. I never went back to her house.. lol pure trauma!
I hope you feel better hun!
<3
Sinduhrella,
I know what you mean about roaches too, eeeewwwww! When I first moved to San Antonio we were renting a duplex, we had a large dog (Black Lab) when we were moving his food was put by the back door, then we brought it in after moving the furniture. I went to open the bag and feed the dog as I poured out the large red doog food pieces they got up and began running in every direction, they were HUGE tree roaches, about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long, of course I screamed I was able to jump backward up onto the dryer and of course staed up there dancing around screaming. It was like something out of a horror movie. AAAAAHHHHHHHH! LOL That story didn't help me with the creepy crawlies LOL
when i was in high school my parents always told me never leave a damp towel in the floor! they got on to me all the time. i just thought it was cause mom is a clean freak well then they said scorpions would get in them. i was like yeah ok. we live in the mtns so scorpions aren't uncommon well at 5 in the morn oneday i pick up the towel i left in the floor and OMG all i saw was legs and then felt a awful pain in my finger! and my parents were right it was a scorpion!! and talking about hurting!! every time i pick up a towel i think of it!! it has scarred me lol so i know how ya feel looking at everything before u use it! haha
OMG!! I don't have a phobia of spiders, but I really don't like the thought of one crawling on me. O_O
I am weirdly afraid of slugs. I don't have Molluscophobia, because I am not afraid of snails or anything. It's just slugs. And a couple of weeks ago, I was at my friend Brittney's house, and at like midnight, we decided to go swimming. So we grabbed some flashlights and went outside, and anyone who knows me knows that I am just a naturally crazy and weird person, so I started dancing for no reason, and I stepped on a slug. I threw the flashlight on the ground, and ran away screaming. And it was dark out, so Brittney didn't know what was wrong, so she started panicking, and I was so hysterical, that I couldn't even form the words to tell her what happened. I really hope none of our neighbors were out. Lol.
I also have Chilopodophobia [fear of centipedes] and of course everytime I go camping, I find one somewhere.
Heather and Georgiagrl,
Hey isn't it strange how slugs are gross, but snails are ok? I've always thought I was just strange, I'm not really afraid of slugs, they are just creepy, yet snails don't bother me a bit.
Oh the damp towel story is creepy, I don't like scorpions we always had them in the house when we lived in Texas, the carpet was a tan color, kind of a marble effect so the scorpions really blended in, how I never got stung I don't know, but it was always a concern. Now that I live in Oklahoma we have a lot of Brown Recluses, they tell us to always check our shoes, I bang mine before I put them on, but I still get apprehensive until the shoes are actually on with no bite. :0) I have been bit by a brown recluse, about a year ago, I have a scar in my knee that my husband jokingly tells people is a bullet wound from where he shot me. LOL
When I was in Girl Scouts we used to go Spider hunting, you put the flash light on your head and you can see all of their eyeballs light up, it's really creepy and if you are as afraid of spiders as me I don't recommend it, you will have nightmares when you realize just how many of them there are. EEEEEWWWWWWWWW!
Some of you girls need to get the heck out of Dodge.Talking about Brown recluses,Scorpions and than there is Lisabeth with snakes and whatever.Yucky......

EEEWWWW,
Personally I don't mind spiders as the ones I've encountered kept the mosquitos away.... but that's definitely an eeeeeewwww category.
My niece, on the other hand is deathly afraid of them. I used to live in this house where I had two spiders living with me. They didn't bother me and I didn't bother them so it was a win situation for me because they caught all the bugs. Anyhoo.... my niece and her friend used to come and visit me all the time for sleepovers. One particular time, she was sitting on the floor outside the bathroom because there wasn't room for the both of them IN the bathroom. She was putting on mascara and she felt something tickling her leg. Well "Charlotte" (one of my 'pet' spiders) had decided to come down to ground level for a visit. Poor girl, screamed, threw her arms into the air and in the process shoved her mascara straight up her nose.
Well we know what mascara does to a woman's eyelashes...... it completely closed her nostril hairs, clumping them together so she couldn't breathe out of that nostril. Her friend and I were laughing so hard we were crying.
Okay guys, i am laughing my butt off. I am sorry for people who have been bitten, but the whole roach scenario has me in hysterics. I don't like bugs, per se, but I am not afraid of them by any means. I find all of it rather hilarious. My sister will jump around like a Mexican jumping bean if anyone just tells her there is a spider. I'm sorry I cannot be sympathetic. Hugs, Bobbie
I'm so scared of spiders and other bugs. I remember once when I was around the age of 5, I was playing outside with my friends, and I kept getting a feeling like something is crawling on my leg. I kept on scratching it, but it never went away. Then I finally decided to look. I lifted up my jeans and it was a WORM! EWW! It was so gross. I shook it off and ran. :|
Whenever anybody even says the word "tick," I start scratching my head. This lasts a fairly long time too. I actually have scabs on my head from scratching it so much. Any suggestions?
I am scared of them big time cause my sister got bit by one when we were kids and she was sick a long time behind it . The leg that she got bit in swelled up 3x times its normal size and she became so sick and feverish she lost a lot of weight had her looking real frail.
