Hey all,
I had written a blog a while ago asking for your help and suggestions for things to do with my 17 year old daughter while she was here this summer. You all gave me great suggestions and we had a very busy 4 weeks. I think she had a good time and I wanted to thank you all for all the help and support. We did go to Florida, in fact we went in style in a Brand new Nissan Quest, we had XM radio to listen to all the way there, that was fun for her and I to see what we could find (and it was sooooo nice not having commercials or losing the station) We went to the beach several times, once on the 4th of July and stayed on the beach until almost midnight watching the fireworks. We went to the mall twice, once in Florida and I spoiled her in Bath and Body works, and once in Oklahoma, we got a make over, and she talked me into buying some green Converse Tennis shoes, they are sooooo me. LOL We went shopping in St. Augustine and I bought her a ring that she was very excited about. I taught her how to make Pecan Pies and Pot Roast while she was here. We went and toured a college she is interested in while we were in Florida. We swam in a pool twice. We did go and see the horses, she got to ride Sophie Bareback, I told her not too many people can say they have ridden a Draft Horse bareback. :0) She made T-shirs with fabric paint with her sisters, they turned out so neat. We went roller skating together. We attended church twice and we volunteered to work a church garage sale, a huge undertaking, but it was fun, Our church made over $10,000 to build clean water wells in Africa!!! We went to the Church the night before and set up from 6:00pm - about midnight or so, then we were back at the church Saturday morning to work the garage sale from 6:30am-1pm, it was really hot on the black top parking lot (Bank thermometers said 106 degrees, but it was worth it.) We went to Panera Bread and had lunch, we went to Joes Crab Shack and had Crabs, we went to Cracker Barrel, we had Chinese food, we had Pizza a few times, we went to a Brewery in Florida, they brew their own Root Beer and we had some Beer Cheese Soup and a Portabella Mushroom Sandawhich. All in all I think we managed to fit in almost all of the suggestions you all gave me. I only had 2 days out of the 4 weeks she was here that I wasn't feeling well and stayed in, so it was great. Oh I got her an Email address and got her on Facebook and this site too, we had fun. Thanks again all!!!!

Michelle, she is beautiful, like her mom. I am so happy you got to spend so much time together. It sounds like you couldn't have crammed in one more thing if you had a shoe horn. it's wonderful that all the anxiety slipped away and you all meshed so well. She referred to your husband as Dad. I thought that was the best. I wish you all the best and I know this is just the beginning. Hugs, Bobbie
