Small Things that Make You Smile

Hey all,

I already told you all about my vacation, have you ever noticed how sometimes it's the small things that make you smile?  I'm going to give you a few examples and then I'd love to hear what makes you smile.

My Nephew Levin is 2 years old and loves the movie Finding Nemo, I was giving him a bath one night and I asked him, "Levin Where's Nemo?" I expected him to say in the ocean or something, he pointed to the drain in the bathroom and said "Down Thee Hole" it was so cute, later he said everything was down the hole because he knew it would make us smile.

My 3 girls were all together playing on the beach (My oldest daughter lives in another state) they were laughing and playing in the surf, it warmed my heart and made me smile.

Seeing my girls little footprints in the sand, there is nothing sweeter, and it makes me smile.

Having the oppertunity to take my daughter on a tour of the college she hopes to attend, I was honored she would let me share that experience, it made me smile.

One day while we were in Florida I wasn't feeling so well, I was run down and feeling lousy, my oldest daughter suggested we play cards, the game War we taught Levin to throw down the card and say "Beat That!"  it was really cute and made me smile.

My daughter Rebekah had to go to the ER, she needed an IV, she was terrified, I talked to her tried to calm her down, I told her once they had it in she would laugh that she was so scared over nothing, she gave the nurse her arm, the nurse got the IV and she smailed with pride that she had done it!  It made me smile  It was the same with Rachels emergency tooth pull, the doctor said he was going to pull it, you could see the fear in her face, he told her to open her mouth she thought about it and with determination she opened wide, he pulled the tooth and after the initial surprise, she smiled with pride, it made me smile.

Isn't it wonderful that little things can make a person smile if you just take the time to notice?  Just remember to take time to notice! :0)

I like to laugh a lot.  Sometimes I wake up laughing, sometimes I just think of things and start laughing or smiling and it makes people nervous or makes them wonder what I'm up to.  I tell them about 4'11."  Then they start laughing.  Thinking of my nephew, Daniel, makes me smile.  He is such a wonderful kid.  He just got back from Orlando (WDW) on Monday.  He stayed overnight with his paternal grandparents, my brother, and just hearing his voice on the phone when I answered "Hi, Jon," and he said "No, Aunt Anne, it's Daniel."  Then he started asking about my cats, telling me how much fun he had with his younger cousins who live here in Chandler, about an hour from me, telling me about things he did that day.  He went on a play date with his friends in Jon's neighborhood.  He was just so happy and it made me happy.

Well, got to go.  Thank you for a great email.  It made me smile just reading it.  I think we're pretty parallel.  We like to smile or laugh; we LOVE the weather and your kids like to stay in hotels.  We're cool.  Take care and have a good day.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....I don't know. I guess alot of things make me happy. I think it's true that it is funny how little things seem to make you the most happy. Even just saying hello to someone and getting a smile. I also love the feelings before and after I have finished a work of art or something i've writen.

The things kids say!  Lately i've been fortunate to be able to spend time with the grandkids. Sometimes I'm driving and start chuckling about the day and what they say and do.  Wish I had time to elaborate.  I'll be back.

Meesh, I love this blog.  I love that you sound as though you are totally enjoying life.  You sound content.  I am so happy for you.  I was wrong, Rachel looks like you.  Rebekah is the image of you.  Enjoy the horses.  Love, Bobbie

the things that make me smile is when Evan starts laughing so hard he slaps his hand on his knee.Getting that special hug from him just for the heck of it then he pats my back with his little hand. Looking into his eyes when he sees something he really likes. Watching a stranger help another stranger. oh the list seems endless right now
