Hey all,
Oh this is mind blowing. GM will be getting 30 Billion dollars for their bankruptcy, in addition to the 20 Billion dollars we (the taxpayers) have already given them, this comes out to 50 Billion dollars, ok that was the easy part. There are aproximately 300 million people in the United States, that includes infants, children, adults and the elderly. If you divide 50 Billion by 300 million that is roughly $166 per person in the US. Multiply $166 by the number of people in your household and you will see how much you payed for GM to be able to go into Bankrupcy. The average family income here in Oklahoma is $30,000 a year meaning that on average people make about $14.50 an hour. So if your family has 4 people your family paid $664 or you had to work for free for 46 hours. That's a week of your life, was it worth it? Why are we paying to save a company that has been practicing bad business for decades? The money is to keep the company afloat, why? I realize that their are many jobs on the line, not only factory workers, but car sales people, maintanence, etc. But if GM were no more, if we didn't reward their consistant bad choices and they were no more, people would buy other cars, maybe Ford at least they don't have their hands out, maybe Nissan, Toyota, or Honda, yes I realize those are not an American companies, but they have factories here in the US, those cars need maintiance too, body work, etc. the dealerships and repair shops would have to hire more sales people and auto workers to meet the demand left by GM for the other companies. Yes it might hurt our pride here in the US, but it probably would hurt our pockets a lot less. Besides all of the workers of these automakers that the government would have you believe we are saving are getting Screwed! Losing their pensions, insurance, etc. Who is going to bail them out? I'm sure with the 50 billion dollars we gave GM we could have kept the GM workers afloat until they found other employment. Ok this is mind blowing We gave GM 50 Billion dollars right? GM says they have 145,000 employees, if the government gave each employee an equal share of the 50 Billion each employee would receive $344,827.59!!!!!!! Are you mad yet? Ok I just wanted to vent. Thanks for listning to my Mathamatical Rantings.

Michelle I feel very bad about the Gm workers,My father worked for Gm for 42 yrs now that he is retired they now have lost health insurance, half of his insurance and pension plan. Now all the big shots are still receiving bonus and all their benefiets,HMMMMMM This is a shame what has gone on. And noone is held a contable and my father was in supervision,so it is sad to watch what they have worked for includeing his friends.
I think this is sad not only for the GM workers but the TAXPEYERS it angers me so much that I cannot even begin to explain opn here. People who really need help can't get it but yet OUR own GOVERNMENT helps these BIG companies Who was AIG they helped last !! HMMMMM And I suppose the big shots are still getting THEIR bonuses !!
You bet your sweet bibpy that those Big Wigs are living a comfortable life.I like you would like to say what I really feel but would be censored. They are helping out GM,but who has the money to buy a new car now or in the near future.I sure don't.I think they should have been left to fend for themselves,we are.....

Every time I hear that a corporation is filing for bankruptcy, I just cringe. Too many innocent people get hurt by "missed" managment.
OH,BUT WAIT, IT GETS BETTER. They are selling the HUMMER division to China. For 116.000.000 I think the no. was. So, if you were thinking of getting a hummer, they will soonbe MADE IN CHINA.
damsell;I just heard that news this a.m. Whatelse now?
Yvonne
Yvonne, got a spare kidney? I'm sure you could sell it to china or the highest bidder.
