     The last day or two has been too bizarre not to share.  As I told some of you my driver's license expired 4-30-09, which was Thursday.  Saturday morning on my way home from work I stopped by Walgreens to pick up my prescriptions, one of them was Darvocet, which is considered a Narcotic so they needed to see my Driver's License, I handed it to the pharmacist checking me out, and he said, Did you know this is expired?  I was like NO, I thought I had just done it, this was May 2, but it was a weekend so I figured I'd get it fixed Monday.  No biggie.  So Monday I called the tag agency and asked about getting it renewed, I told them it expired Thrusday, they said no problem just bring in your Birth Certificate and we can issue a new one.  Oh OK, no problem I have my birth certificate, the same one I used to go to Mexico, get my marriage license, etc.  So I wait in line, I hand the lady at the tag agency my old drivers license, and my birth certificate.  She looks at it and says this won't work.  I was like what do you mean, she said the State of New Jersey did it wrong and we can't accept it, but go to the Highway patrol agency and they can do it.  SO I drive to the highway patrol office, wait in line, and show them, they said "Nope, this won't work, you will have to call the state of New Jersey and have a new one sent to you".  I said well my license is expired how long will that take?  She said oh probably a month or more.  I said how do I drive to work?  She said well if you get caught there will be stiff penalties.  She gave me the number for the State of New Jersey's Vital Records Department.  They have a recording that says you can send info to them snail mail, it will take 8-10 weeks to get your records, or you can expedite the service by using an online place they work with called Vitalchek, so I go there, it is $25 dollars for the record, $2 for an extra copy, $10.95 for the processing fee, and $20 for shipping.  I'm outraged at this point but I pay the 60 bucks and after check out it says I have to prove my Identity by filling out a form, and submitting a Valid Drivers License   WHAT?!?  ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????  I NEED THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE TO GET THE DRIVERS LICENSE NOW I NEED A DRIVERS LICENSE TO GET A BIRTH CERTIFICATE?????  So I call the Tag agency and said what do I do??????  He says, sorry it sounds like you hit a dead end.  At this point my BP is probably off the chart and it's taking every fiber of my being to not just reach through the phone and rip the guys head off.  But I was really nice and said ok Thank you. (I don't know for what) Finally I find out you can use other forms of ID if you send 2.  A voter Registration card, which I have, yeah, one down, 2 utility bills, ok I have those right............WRONG, they all have my hubby's name on them.  AAAAHHHHHHHHH  Vehicle Registration, we don't do that in OK.  Well in OK we are not required to carry vehicle registration, they do that with the tag every year, so I don't think we have a paper or anything.  Green card, Nope, Passport - Nope, Non Photo State Issued Drivers Licesne - Nope, County ID - Nope, School ID - Nope, I have a work ID, but it doesn't say I can use that.  Car Insurance Card - Yes!!!!!!!!  Oh Thank God.  Supposedly they started this law because of illegal immigrants -  WHY?  Most of them drive without a license, or insurance, seems like it just punishes me.  Oh well.  SO for now I will have Hubby drive me around when he can.  Tommorow I have to go to work, Hubby will be in Stillwater, so I don't have a choice, then I called the dentist Monday, I have a tooth that needs a root canal, it has gotten infected and the pain is in my cheekbone and my eye socket, feels like someone hit me in the cheekbone with a hammer! She can see me today at 2:30, Hubby drove me to work today, went to Stillwater 1 1/2 hours away, came back picked me up, and drove me 45 minutes to the dentist office.  I don't know what God would think of me praying to not be caught breaking the law, but I don't know what else to do right now  I asked at the highway patrol office if there is a way to get an extension, or something since I had my origional state stamped birth certificate and now it's no good, but no there's nothing I can do.  If I weren't a US citizen I could get a temporary License good for up to 4 years, that's how long my real license is good for.  I talked to the dentist office, she can prescribe antibiotics so at least I can probably get a script for something I can take without the antihystamine, she gave me Penacillian, haven't tried taking it yet, but hopefully I won't have a problem.  Hope so anyway.  She said she'd have to look at it, we don't have Dental insurance or even health insurance yet, she did a modified root canal, she went in and killed the nerve, but didn't remove it, she said it could last 6 weeks, it could last a year, no way to know, the bill today was only $150 much better.  I just can't swing the $900 right now for the root canal, then it's another $850 for the crown, I just can't do that right now.  She doesn't do payments.  SO I got it done, it was hurting a bit when the numbness wore off, but I think part of the temp filling material came off, I guess I'll have her check it in the morning on the way to work.  Hopefully she can look for me.  Anyway that was my last two days, hope yours are better. :0)
