Stylish, middle-age, university instructor in Family & Consumer Sciences education. Taught high school for 20 years, administrator for 8 and now a teacher educator. Married with 2 grown children and 1 grandchild (9 years old).
Car accident in 1990 left me needing a knee replacement--have had 2 surgeries and am now getting cortisone shots monthly until I can have the replacement done in May. Seriously hampers my motivation and ability to exercise regularly.
Have gone on many diets--low calorie, Jenny Craig, Weightwatchers, low carb. Regained 52 lbs. after hysterectomy 5 years ago. Very frustrating!

-12.4 pounds and weight is still just inching off. If we have any kind of restaurant food, wine or mixed drink....I just don't lose weight that week.
We are going on vacation next week, so I'm determined not to blow all of this hard work. I will continue the diet same as we have been until my surgery on May 9th, but I am a little disappointed. It just shows me that my body can gain it very easily and then won't let it go once it's on. HA! I'm sure this is somewhat normal for women over 50, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. After the surgery when I can exercise I am hoping to see a greater result. I am definitely biding my time until then. :(
-11.8 pounds this morning! The activate stage doesn't work as I stayed stuck on 10 lbs for the entire 17-day cycle. Once I got back on the accellerate program the weight started coming off again. Seems as though the starches don't work well with my body. Hmmmm.....

Started on the 17-Day Diet on 1/17/11. I'm a number's person, so I'm believing it is significant that this date is when I had read enough of the book, gathered together my food supplies and was ready to begin.
My first weigh-in is tomorrow morning, so I'll let you know how I've done this week. I've been very diligent and had very few slip-ups on the first round. I'll get back at 'cha tomorrow! :)
