I suffer from migrain headaches pretty regularly. Sometimes they only hit during my period, and sometimes they hit 3 - 4 times a week. When I get a really bad one, I can't function, my eyes hurt, my ears hurt, nausea, and it can last for 2 - 3 days at a time. I think for the most part, they are connected somehow to my period. I was given a perscription for them one time, but they changed me emotionaly, and so I just suffer through them. I do take over the counter meds, Tylonal and Exedrine, but sometimes they do not work at all either.

Hi, thanks. I have not seen anyone but the family doctor about it so far, and she gave me some meds, but they made me act differently and i was more grouchy. I will have to do that though, cause they are quite frequent, and as you said, just moving makes it worse. Again, thanks for your comment and advice!
Thanks for sharing this! I had this problem awhile back. My migraines made me dizzy, nauseated all the time, and SO tired. Exedrine, Tylenol, Ibuprofen all stopped helping me. I held off doing anything about them for a long time. It became hard for me to function and when I finally decided to do something about it, it seemed nothing would work. I went to the doctor and it was diagnosed as stress for a long time. I was prescribed many different meds. Nothing worked. I underwent CT scans, MRIs, blood tests, the works and finally the results came back and I found out that I had a malignant brain tumor. Headaches are not fun to have, I know. Listen to your body. You should definitely keep visiting the drs until you get help. I hope you find relief soon.

Hi there, I really understand your pain and frustration. I've suffered with these since my youth but they really kicked up bad about 3 years ago. Mine are more weather and stress triggered then food triggered, but keeping a diary of your headaches, and food you have consumed, what you have been drinking, and what is going on in your life is helpful in figuring out your triggers. There are many drugs out there used as preventitives but everyone and their migraines are different so it is a matter of trial and error in finding the right one for you. Many anti depressants are used, beta blockers, etc. I take a combination of drugs that seem to have brought the number of headaches down but still have not eliminated them. I sometimes lose the use of my right side before a major one hits. Ask to see a specialist and they will help you to identify triggers and hopefully find something that works well for you. Take care of you. Deb
Hi, I've suffered from Migraines as long as I can remember. The one and only medicine that works for my Migraines is MAXALT. They're disinegrating tablets that you put under your tongue. They work wonderful. Sometimes my headaches completely disappear within 15 minutes of taking one. They are prescription of course. There is no side effects from the med that I can notice. Only that they take the headache away.
Thank you all for your advice. I have made an appointment for June to see someone regarding these headaches. Just wanted to keep you up to date, again, thank you!
