About Me
I have been happily married since 4/03. My Husband and I have been together since 12/93!
I spend a lot of time playing computer games.
I love to watch Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). I follow many different leagues and organizations.
I am a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). I work at The University of Georgia's Veterinary Teaching Hospital as an anesthesia tech, similar to a nurse anesthetist. I absolutely love my job and I do know how lucky that makes me.
Of course, we have pets. Right now, they are our kids. It is said in the animal medical field that you will always have at least one pet with some type of health problem. I believe that is because it is very likely for us to have pets who were either abandoned at or signed over to the various clinics we have worked for. True to that statement, we have a Siamese mix cat who is deaf, has some neurological deficits, and has kidney stones. He was signed over as a kitten. We have a Maine Coon mix cat with a mild asymptomatic (means it doesn't bother him) heart problem. He was found with his deceased mother and siblings, bottle raised by a doctor I was working for. We have one Mutt with severe storm phobia. She was abandoned after being brought to us for treatment when she jumped out of the bed of a moving truck. We have a Lab mix with three legs who I got through a rescue.
I, myself have my own health problems. I have Narcolepsy, luckily I am only mildly cataplectic. Cataplexy is what you see on TV where people just "drop" due to the relaxation of all of their muscles. I have mild Hypertension and allergies for which I used to receive shots. I suffer from anxiety and mild depression and mild sleep apnea. However, I consider myself very lucky because despite all of these problems, they are all pretty well controlled. The only uncontrolled problem I have is obesity. Hopefully some day soon I can also gain control of that.
