I am 28 years old and live for the outdoors. Camping, hiking, skiing, kayaking; I love it all, but most of all fishing and photography. I will always be proud to call myself a Montanan. My soul mate, my wonderful, loving, amazing husband and I will be celebrating our 1-year anniversary January 10^th. I am a counselor at a treatment center for emotionally disturbed children. It can be both physically and emotonally challenging, but I love what I do and cannot imagine myself doing anything else.

     We just learned we will be having our first child. I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas gift. Thank you Jesus J! Life style changes have been quit the adjustment. Coffee, fish (sushi especially. yum), and spicy foods among my daily diet, but giving them up will be worth it. I can’t wait to be a mom.

  The same day the doctor confirmed our pregnancy I also received the results from a fine needle aspiration I had done on my thyroid 2 weeks prior. The results revealed I have papillary thyroid cancer. The doctors working with us are amazing, and very assuring that we need not worry because it is the weakest and most treatable of cancers and it's localized so there is no worry of it spreading. But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared out of my mind. Treatment will involve removing my thyroid by surgery then swallowing a radioactive iodine tablet to kill what’s left of my thyroid, none of which would be good for baby; so they cannot do anything about it until after the baby is born.

I’m not much of a TV watcher, but I love the doctors!!
