Memorial Day
Hi everyone. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend. Please remember all of our soldiers and veterans in your prayers. After all, it is thanks to them that we have the freedom to worship as we choose (a freedom that most people take for granted). Remember this, and remember to count your blessings, no matter how cliche this sounds. Also, please do not drink and drive. Stay safe. :)
Here's a story of 4 people....
This is a story of 4 people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Somebody would do it, but Nobody asked Anybody. It ended up that the job wasn't done and Everybody blamed Somebody, when actually Nobody asked Anybody.

Age Activated ADD-funny&true
This is how Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder manifests: I decide to water my lawn. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide my car needs washing. As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on th porch table that I brought up from the mailbox earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys...

Breast lump---any advice???
A few weeks ago I had "part" of a breast lump removed. They were supposed to get the whole lump (but unfortunately, it can only be felt when I'm upright). I was told it isn't cancerous. My follow-up appointment was postponed (till tomorrow). So I will get more details as to what exactly it is. My fear is that this will one day "become" cancer. Although I'm not looking forward to ANOTHER surgery, my gut...

pool safety/CPR
With summer just around the corner, I'm glad that the topic of pool safety was touched on today. I really hope that cpr will be a topic of an upcoming show as well. It's important for parents to know (even if they do not have a pool---anything can happen at a friend or relative's house, community pool, ocean, lake or even bathtub). Doctors, you do a great job! Keep up the good work...

Advanced Directives/Living Will
Can someone explain the difference? Whenever being admitted to the hospital or having outpatient surgery, people are asked if they have advanced directives or a living will (or if they want more info on this). Where would one go for this info BEFORE they are in the hospital or having surgery? Any info about this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Diabetic Cravings???
My aunt (seventy-something) is diabetic. She's blind in one eye and nearly blind in the other due to retinopathy. She is constantly getting infected legs (which ooze and when they are not oozing pus, they are black and blue and purple. She "knows" that this is due to her lack of control of her blood sugar, however she eats candy, cake, cookies, etc. I am "convinced" that diabletics "crave" sweets so much that they CANNOT...

Can bones chip off and linger?
For the past few months, I've been getting VERY sudden and sharp pain in my knee. It feels like a jagged edge (or a razor blade) jabbing into the side of my knee. I went to the doctor and had it x-rayed. I was told that the x-ray showed a "rough" edge. I was given a medrol dosepak (even though it doesn't "seem" swollen??), which I haven't taken yet, and I'm being referred to ortho. It...
